Objectives: To assess the effects of agrimol-containing Ledeb. extract (APE) for senescent immune cell removal in middle-aged Japanese adults with immunosenescence.
Design And Setting: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study was conducted in Japan between June 2023 and April 2024.
Arachidonic acid (ARA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which are long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFAs), as well as lutein (L) and zeaxanthin (Z), can potentially improve brain function. However, the effect of a combination of these components (LCPUFAs + LZ) on memory function in healthy older individuals remains unclear. This study aimed to determine if LCPUFAs + LZ-supplemented food could improve memory function.

To explain this uncommon phenomenon, we investigated the prevalence of naturally occurring ("natural") antibodies, focusing on those of the secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) form, reactive with SARS-CoV-2 among Japanese people. One hundred and eighty healthy Japanese volunteers of a wide range of age who had been considered to be unexposed to SARS-CoV-2 participated in this study.

In this randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study, 60 healthy adults (age 45-64 years) with self-awareness of cognitive decline were randomly divided into 2 groups and received either orally administered MHBAs (35 mg/day) or placebo for 12 weeks. Cognitive functions and mental states were assessed using neuropsychological tests or questionnaires at baseline and weeks 6 and 12 of the intervention.
