Fungal infections are of major concern all over the globe, and fluconazole is the most prevalently used drug to treat it. The goal of this research work was to formulate a fluconazole-embedded transfersomal gel for the treatment of fungal infections. A compatibility study between fluconazole and soya lecithin was performed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

It has been confirmed that placental transfusion can supplement blood volume in infants and reduce preterm-associated complications, which is further conducive to the development of the nervous system and a better long-term prognosis. Based on these advantages, placental transfusion has been widely used in VPI.

The high rotational speed of the axial flow blood pump and flow separation of the centrifugal blood pump are the main causes for blood damage in blood pump. The mixed flow blood pump can effectively alleviate the high rotational speed and the flow separation. Based on this, the purpose of this study is to explore the performance of the mixed blood pump with a closed impeller.

Recent studies have illustrated that specific miRNAs exhibit novel therapeutic potential by controlling CSC properties. miR-1275 is upregulated in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and enhances its stemness.

However, the prognostic significance of CD155 and TIGIT in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains unclear. In this study, immunohistochemistry was applied in 334 LUAD cases to evaluate the expression of CD155 and TIGIT.

Methods: A total of 210 LUAD patients diagnosed between 2003 and 2016 in the Department of Pathology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were included in this study. The expression of CTHRC1 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and microvessel density (MVD, determined by CD34 immunostaining) were evaluated by immunohistochemistry in LUAD tissues.
A large number of EGFR mutant non-small cell lung cancer patients primordially benefit from first-line treatment with first-generation EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), such as gefitinib and erlotinib. However, multiple acquired resistance mechanisms have been described that limit the clinical efficacy of first-generation EGFR-TKIs. Herein, we report a rare case of lung adenocarcinoma harboring an EGFR exon 19-deletion mutation before the administration of target therapy.
