Acute lung injury (ALI) is a life-threatening condition triggered by pneumonia, viral infections, or physical trauma. It manifests clinically as progressive respiratory failure and refractory hypoxemia. Using a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury mouse model, we demonstrated that amniotic mesenchymal stem cells (AMSCs) exhibit robust reparative and anti-inflammatory properties.

The α-FeO/Fe(MoO) nanocomposite was synthesized utilizing a green, normal-pressure, microwave-assisted method followed by an in situ solid-state reaction process with flower-like MoS as a unique precursor. The resulting α-FeO/Fe(MoO) composite presents a porous, agminated petal-like structure with α-FeO nanoparticles homogeneously attached to the surfaces of Fe(MoO) nanosheets.

The management of IBD often involves repairing the mechanical, chemical, immune, or biological barriers of the intestinal mucosa to alleviate symptoms. Currently, the treatment of IBD patients requires continuous medication or surgical interventions, which can cause irreversible damage to the patient's body over time.

However, single-targeted therapies are not currently effective, and there is a need to find pluripotent drugs with multiple properties. This study aimed to characterize the metabolism of neurotransmitters using a targeted metabolomics approach and to identify the major metabolic pathways mainly affected by 6‴-feruloylspinosin (6-FS).

View Article and Find Full Text PDFLarotaxel (LTX) and SB-T-1214 (SBT), two new synthetic experimental toxoids, have shown broad-spectrum antitumor activity, especially against tumors that are resistant to other drugs. However, their poor solubility, membrane permeability, and first-pass effect limits their use in oral administration. We designed and synthesized two long-chain triglyceride-mimic prodrugs of LTX (LTXSSTG) and SBT (SBTSSTG), which are bridged by disulfide bonds and efficiently incorporated them into Self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS).

However, the heterogeneity of tumor microenvironment may limit the anti-tumor effect of prodrug nanomedicines with a single response module. Here, we chose disulfide bond as the response module and branched chain alcohol as the self-assembly modification module to construct a single-responsive prodrug.

An NR/GO composite film with antibacterial properties was prepared using a water-based solution-casting method. The composited GO was dispersed uniformly in the NR matrix and compensated for mechanical loss in the process of modification.

In higher plants, the regulatory roles of cAMP (cyclic adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate) signaling remain elusive until now. Cellular cAMP levels are generally much lower in higher plants than in animals and transiently elevated for triggering downstream signaling events. Moreover, plant adenylate cyclase (AC) activities are found in different moonlighting multifunctional proteins, which may pose additional complications in distinguishing a specific signaling role for cAMP.

The Grubbs II catalyst was fixed on the GO surface, and the norbornene derivatives functionalized using spiropyran were synthesized from this active site the ROMP method. The results indicated that the spiropyran-modified polymer brushes were obtained on the GO surface in the form of thin films.

Jujuboside B (JUB) has many characteristics such as hypnosis, sedation, antianxiety, and antioxidant stress. However, it is still unclear whether JuB can alleviate the neurotoxicity caused by Aβ.

The intelligent response actuators based on bilayer polymer can deform under the stimulation of temperature, humidity, light, and other external environment, which is the focus of research. However, achieving multiple responses, high deformation, and programmability is still one of the challenges for these actuators. Herein, a nondetachable bilayer structure, polylactic acid-polypropylene carbonate/polyvinyl alcohol-polydopamine (PLA-PPC/PVA-PDA) multiresponse programmable actuator is prepared by a simple scraping film method.

In this platform, a direct oxidation of OPD by MnO generated the luminescent product 2,3-diaminophenolazine (DAP) through intrinsic oxidase activity, while RCDs served as a fluorescent reference indicator. In the presence of AChE and ATCh, the enzymatic hydrolysate thiocholine (TCh) would reduce MnO nanosheets to Mn, leading to the quenching of DAP fluorescence.
