Biofilm is one of the important factors affecting nitrogen removal in constructed wetlands (CWs). However, the impact of submerged macrophyte on nitrogen conversion of biofilms on leaf of submerged macrophyte and matrix remains poorly understood. In this study, the CWs with Vallisneria natans and with artificial plant were established to investigate the effects of submerged macrophyte on nitrogen conversion and the composition of nitrogen-converting bacteria in leaf and matrix biofilms under high ammonium nitrogen (NH-N) loading.

Phosphorus (P) plays a crucial role in plant growth. Insufficient availability of inorganic phosphate (Pi) can significantly impact crop yields. To address this, we previously developed transgenic rice expressing the low polyphosphate kinase gene (ppk) - known as ETRS - to enhance the efficiency of P resource utilization.

Previous research has demonstrated that polyphosphate kinase (ppk)-expressing transgenic rice (Oryza sativa L. ssp.

However, an early warning of geological water seepage remains a significant challenge. A self-powered, cost-effective, reliable, and susceptible SIGH early warning system (SIGH-EWS) is reported herein.

Recently, electrolysis technology has been widely applied in nitrogen and phosphorus removal in river water due to its high efficiency, but its effects on aquatic animals, especially on their neurodevelopmental system, are still unclear. In this study, zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos were used as model organisms and were put into an electrolytic reaction device with a Ti/IrO/RuO mesh plate as the anode and a Ti mesh plate as the cathode to explore the effects of prolonged electrolysis on the nervous system. The neural development of zebrafish embryos was injured when the current density was greater than 0.

Here in-situ and laboratory studies were jointly designed to probe the mechanism of cyanobacterial bloom promoted by solar UV light. The results showed that solar UV light is a key trigger factor for the accumulation of total phosphorus, dissolved inorganic phosphorus and polyphosphate (polyP) in blooming cyanobacterial cells.

Materials And Methods: A questionnaire containing factors related to vestibular symptoms and migraine was designed to survey nurses in a tertiary hospital. Then, all study subjects were divided into three groups: no headache, migraine, and non-migraine headache, and the general physical condition and incidence of different vestibular symptoms were compared among the three groups.

The diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is of great significance for the early risk classification of sudden cardiac death and the screening of family genetic diseases. This research proposed a HCM automatic detection method based on convolution neural network (CNN) model, using single-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) signal as the research object. Firstly, the R-wave peak locations of single-lead ECG signal were determined, followed by the ECG signal segmentation and resample in units of heart beats, then a CNN model was built to automatically extract the deep features in the ECG signal and perform automatic classification and HCM detection.

To improve the nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiency of surface flow constructed wetlands (SFCWs), biochar was added to an SFCW matrix. The effects of adding different amounts of biochar on water purification, the growth of Vallisneria natans (V. natans), and microbial mechanisms were explored through SFCW simulation experiments.

Previous studies have demonstrated that MC-LR induces oxidative stress in granulosa cells by damaging the mitochondria, which eventually leads to follicle atresia and female subfertility. In the present study, granulosa cells were exposed to 0, 0.

However, the antibacterial performance of PDMS in flow conditions has never been reported in the literature. In this paper, we analyzed the effects of contact angle (CA), adhesion force (work), and surface free energy on the antibacterial activities of PDMS by varying the ratio of curing agents (crosslinking degree) and surface modification with oxygen plasma.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) has been found to be highly expressed in breast and other tumors; therefore, there is the need to investigate the level of EGFR expression among patients with head and neck tumors in Ghana.
Method: The level of EGFR expression was determined in head and neck tumor and control head and neck tissues with quantitative real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry analysis.
PRRT2 mutations are the major causative agent of paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia with infantile convulsion (PKD/IC). The study is aimed at screening PRRT2 gene mutations in patients who suffered from PKD/IC in Chinese population. Thirteen Chinese patients with PKD/IC were screened randomly for coding exons of the PRRT2 gene mutation along with 50 ethnically coordinated control people.

This clinically heterogeneous group of genetic anomaly includes at least 461 genetic skeletal disorders with extreme clinical, phenotypic, and genetic heterogeneities, thus, significantly complicates accurate diagnosis. Researches have used whole exome sequencing (WES) for prenatal molecular diagnoses of skeletal dysplasias, however, data are still limited.

Chronic exposure to MC-LR has been confirmed to cause learning and memory deficits in mice, but the potential molecular mechanism of MC-LR-caused neurotoxicity is still unclear. In this research, we observed that MC-LR induced oxidative stress, mitochondrial fission and apoptosis in HT-22 hippocampal neurons.
