Purpose: Sepsis-associated liver injury (SALI) leads to increased mortality in sepsis patients, yet no specialized tools exist for early risk assessment. This study aimed to develop and validate a risk prediction model for early identification of SALI before patients meet full diagnostic criteria.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 415 sepsis patients admitted to ICU from January 2019 to January 2022.
Background: Malignant pleural effusion (MPE) is prevalent among cancer patients, indicating pleural metastasis and predicting poor prognosis. However, accurately identifying MPE in clinical settings is challenging. The aim of this study was to establish an innovative nomogram-derived model based on clinical indicators and serum metal ion levels to identify MPE.

In addition, although glucocorticoids exert immunosuppressive effects on inflammatory diseases by inducing the expansion of MDSCs, the impact of glucocorticoids on the immunosuppressive function of MDSCs and their molecular mechanisms are unclear. In this study, we found that adoptive transfer of MDSCs to doxorubicin-induced focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) mice for eight consecutive weeks led to an increase in serum creatinine and proteinuria and aggravation of renal interstitial fibrosis.

In this article, we evaluate a new CTC separation method based on a combination of anti-EpCAM and immunomagnetic beads with the aim to detect CTCs more conveniently and specifically.
Methods: Lung cancer cells were magnetically labeled by anti-EpCAM magnetic beads, and subsequently captured by magnetic separation using our novel device.
