Background: The primary challenges in CD19-specific chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CD19 CAR T) therapy for patients with refractory/relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (r/r B-ALL) are non-response and relapse; it is urgent to reveal these mechanisms. Neutrophils play a critical role in the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME), which can hinder CAR T efficacy. Our previous research identified a subset of immunosuppressive neutrophils with a special phenotype (CD14CD10CD45HLA-DRSSC, termed CD10 neuts), which suppress T cell function.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the clinical significance of CD45CD33CD14CD10HLA-DR neutrophils (Cluster of Differentiation 10 [CD10] neutrophils) in B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHL). An amplification system of CD10 neutrophils was constructed using cytokines, and the mechanisms underlying the cytokine-induced expansion and activation of the CD10 neutrophil subpopulation were investigated.

Material And Methods: We identified a novel suppressive cell population known as CD10 neutrophils in the peripheral blood of patients with B-NHL in different statuses by flow cytometry and found it to be correlated with interleukin-6 levels, T cell counts, and plasma arginase-1 (Arg-1) levels.

In the repair of large bone defects, loss of the periosteum can result in diminished osteoinductive activity, nonunion, and incomplete regeneration of the bone structure, ultimately compromising the efficiency of bone regeneration. Therefore, the research and development of tissue-engineered periosteum which can replace the periosteum function has become the focus of current research. The functionalized electrospinning periosteum is expected to mimic the natural periosteum and enhance bone repair processes more effectively.

A novel aggregation-induced emission (AIE)-based artificial light-harvesting system (LHS) is successfully assembled via the host-guest interaction of bis-naphthylacrylonitrile derivative (BND), water-soluble pillar[5]arene (WP5), and sulforhodamine 101 (SR101). After host-guest assembly, the formed WP5⊃BND complexes spontaneously self-aggregated into WP5⊃BND nanoparticles (donors) and SR101 (acceptors) is introduced into WP5⊃BND to fabricate WP5⊃BND-SR101 LHS. Through the investigation of energy transfer between donors and acceptors, the artificial light-harvesting processes are certified in WP5⊃BND-SR101 LHS and the absolute fluorescence quantum yields (Φ) are significantly improved from 8.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers identified a 10-gene signature (including CARD16, TRIP13, and others) linked to BTKi resistance, allowing for early identification of high-risk DLBCL patients and improving prognosis predictions through a nomogram.
  • * The key gene TRIP13 was overexpressed in both DLBCL and BTKi-resistant cell lines; reducing its levels decreased cell proliferation and enhanced the effects of BTKi, suggesting it could be a target for treatment in resistant

A carbazole-based artificial light-harvesting system (LHS) was successfully fabricated based on the supramolecular assembly of AIE-enhanced donor (CTD), water-soluble phosphate-pillar[5]arene (WPP5), and eosin Y (ESY) acceptor. The formed WPP5-CTD possessed remarkable AIE emission, featuring an ideal energy donor for light harvesting. After encapsulation of ESY, the energy of WPP5-CTD was efficiently transferred to ESY in WPP5-CTD-ESY, and the antenna effect was 38.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the clinical characteristics and survival differences between early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) patients and late-onset colorectal cancer (LOCRC) patients, identify the risk factors for cancer-specific mortality (CSM) in LOCRC patients and construct a mortality risk assessment nomogram.

Methods: CRC patients diagnosed pathologically between 2010 and 2019 in the SEER database were included and divided into the early-onset group and the late-onset group, and the late-onset group was divided into the training and validation sets. The Fine-Gray competing risk model was applied to analyze the prognostic factors of LOCRC patients and establish a competing risk nomogram for CSM.

BiGeO (BGO) is a traditional scintillator, widely used in high-energy physics and nuclear medicine. However, it not only suffers from low scintillation intensity but also tends to be damaged by high-energy rays. Herein, we prepare pure-phase BGO materials enriched with Bi vacancies by rationally reduced Bi content, showing significantly enhanced luminescence intensity and irradiation resistance ability.

A novel water-soluble phosphate-pillar[5]arene (WPP5)-based artificial light-harvesting system (LHS) was successfully fabricated through the supramolecular assembly of phenyl-pyridyl-acrylonitrile derivative (PBT), WPP5, and organic pigment Eosin Y (ESY). Initially, after host-guest interaction, WPP5 could bind well with PBT and form WPP5 ⊃ PBT complexes in water, which further assembled into WPP5 ⊃ PBT nanoparticles. WPP5 ⊃ PBT nanoparticles performed an outstanding aggregation-induced emission (AIE) capability because of the J-aggregates of PBT in WPP5 ⊃ PBT nanoparticles, which were appropriate as fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) donors for artificial light-harvesting.

Purpose: The current understanding of binocular processing is primarily derived from static spatial visual perception: this leaves the role of temporal information unclear. In this study, we addressed this gap by testing the effect of alternating flicker on binocular information processing in adults with abnormal binocular vision. Our goal was to determine which temporal frequency optimally balanced input from both eyes.

Rational reconstruction of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) pre-catalysts and performance index of OER catalysts are crucial but still challenging for universal water electrolysis. Herein, we develop a double-cation etching strategy to tailor the electronic structure of NiMoO, where the prepared NiMoO nanorods etched by HO reconstruct their surface with abundant cation deficiencies and lattice distortion. Calculation results reveal that the double cation deficiencies can make the upshift of d-band center for Ni atoms and the active sites with better oxygen adsorption capacity.

Polyacrylic acid (PAA) is a promising binder for the high-capacity Si anode. However, the one-dimensional structure of PAA could cause the linear molecular chains to slide from the Si surface during the charge-discharge processes, leading to insufficient suppression of the massive volume expansion of the Si anode. Herein, a soft-rigid dual chains' network of PAA-sodium silicate (PAA-SS) was successfully constructed by cross-linking PAA and SS in situ at room temperature.

Cutaneous air-breathing is one of the air-breathing patterns in bimodal respiration fishes, while little is known about its underlying formation mechanisms. Here, we first investigated the skin regeneration of loach (, a cutaneous air-breathing fish) and yellow catfish (, a water-breathing fish) through morphological and histological observations. Then, the original skins (OS: MOS, POS) and regenerated skins (RS: MRS, PRS) when their capillaries were the most abundant (the structural foundation of air-breathing in fish) during healing, of the two fish species were collected for high-throughput RNA-seq.

Metal oxide-based materials are attractive anode candidates for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) because of their high theoretical capacity. However, these materials suffer from large volume expansion and poor stability of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) during the charge-discharge process, casusing rapid capacity degradation. Herein, we report that LiPO-rooted and intact SEI in situ formed on the phosphate-modified SnO/CNFs during cycling.
