Microplastics (MPs) easily migrate into deeper soil layers, posing potential risks to subterranean habitats and groundwater. However, the mechanisms governing the vertical migration of MPs in soil, particularly aged MPs, remain unclear. In this study, we investigate the transport of MPs under varying MPs properties, soil texture and hydrology conditions.

Polyfunctional Arylamine Based Nanofiltration Membranes with Enhanced Aggressive Organic Solvents Resistance.

Organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membranes with high separation performance and excellent stability in aggressive organic solvents are urgently desired for chemical separation. Herein, we utilized a polyfunctional arylamine tetra-(4-aminophenyl) ethylene (TAPE) to prepare a highly cross-linked polyamide membrane with a low molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) of 312 Da. Owing to its propeller-like conformation, TAPE formed micropores within the polyamide membrane and provided fast solvent transport channels.

Superconductivity above 105 K in Nonclathrate Ternary Lanthanum Borohydride below Megabar Pressure.

Hydrides are promising candidates for achieving room-temperature superconductivity, but a formidable challenge remains in reducing the stabilization pressure below a megabar. In this study, we successfully synthesized a ternary lanthanum borohydride by introducing the nonmetallic element B into the La-H system, forming robust B-H covalent bonds that lower the pressure required to stabilize the superconducting phase. Electrical transport measurements confirm the presence of superconductivity with a critical temperature () of up to 106 K at 90 GPa, as evidenced by zero resistance and shift under an external magnetic field.

Assessment of the clinical effect of Chinese medicine therapy combined with psychological intervention for treatment of patients of peri-menopausal syndrome complicated with hyperlipidemia.

Objective: To observe the effect of Chinese medicine therapy combined with psychological intervention (combined therapy) on the clinical symptoms and levels of blood lipids and sex hormones of patients of peri-menopausal syndrome complicated with hyperlipidemia.

Methods: With the use of a randomizing digital table method, 185 patients that fit the registration standard were randomly assigned to three groups. The 59 cases in Group A were treated with two Chinese patents, Kunbao Pill and Modified Xiaoyao Pill; the 63 in Group B received psychological intervention alone; and the 63 in Group C were treated with both (the combined therapy), with the treatment course for all six months.
