Dosing iron salts is a widely adopted strategy for sewer odor and corrosion management, and it can affect bioenergy recovery during anaerobic digestion (AD) of sludge in downstream wastewater treatment plants. However, the different impacts of in-sewer iron salt dosing on AD, depending on the types of iron and digestion conditions, remain unclear. Therefore, this study investigated the impact of in-sewer ferrous (Fe(II)) and ferrate (Fe(VI)) dosing on bioenergy recovery in both conventional AD and AD with thermal hydrolysis pretreatment (THP).

Methods: A total of 582 patients histopathologically diagnosed with PGTs were retrospectively recruited from 4 centers, and their data were collected for analysis. The radiomics features of six deep learning models (ResNet18, Inception_v3 etc) were analyzed based on the ultrasound images that were obtained under the best automatic segmentation model (Deeplabv3, UNet++, and UNet).
The U-box protein family of ubiquitin ligases is important in the biological processes of plant growth, development, and biotic and abiotic stress responses. Plants in the genus are recognized as excellent warm-season turfgrass species with drought, wear and salt tolerance. In this study, we conducted the genome-wide identification of () genes in based on U-box domain searching.

Intraoperative electroencephalogram (EEG) burst suppression suggests excessively deep anesthesia and predicts POD. Use of remimazolam provides a stable hemodynamic status and an appropriate depth of anesthesia.

In this study, we investigated the concentrations of six PFAAs in dust samples collected from different indoor environments in a college campus in Tainan, Taiwan, and assessed the health risk of PFAAs exposure to college students. We also analyzed the effects of dust characteristics (total organic carbon, moisture content, and dust content) on PFAAs levels.

Objective: To explore the significance of LINC02082 and LOC105369812 in the differential diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and benign nodules.
Methods: Cancer tissues and benign nodules from 8 patients were sequenced and constructed using high-throughput sequencing. Differentially expressed mRNAs (DEmRNAs) and lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) with significant differences were screened.
Exosomal PD-L1 (exoPD-L1) has recently received significant attention as a biomarker predicting immunotherapeutic responses involving the PD1/PD-L1 pathway. However, current technologies for exosomal analysis rely primarily on bulk measurements that do not consider the heterogeneity found within exosomal subpopulations. Here, we present a nanoscale cytometry platform NanoEPIC, enabling phenotypic sorting and exoPD-L1 profiling from blood plasma.

Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed the preoperative ultrasound data of 892 patients with BC, who were classified into training (n=535), validation (n=178), and test (n=179) cohorts. Linear combinations of the selected features were weighted by their coefficients to obtain the predicted score.
Thermogenic adipocytes have been extensively investigated because of their energy-dissipating property and therapeutic potential for obesity and diabetes. Besides serving as fuel sources, accumulating evidence suggests that intermediate metabolites play critical roles in multiple biological processes. However, their role in adipocyte differentiation and thermogenesis remains unexplored.

In the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, the central flowering repressor FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) is precisely regulated by multiple flowering time regulators in the vernalization pathway and autonomous pathway, including FPA. Here we report that Arabidopsis MEDIATOR SUBUNIT 8 (MED8) promotes floral transition in Arabidopsis by recruiting FPA to the FLC locus to repress FLC expression.

The muscle microenvironment is known to play a key role in controlling muscle stem cell regenerative capacity, yet the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here, we found that Baf60c expression in skeletal muscle is significantly downregulated in obese and T2D mice and humans.

However, the exercise-regulated pathways that prevent the development of T2DM remain largely unclear. In this study, two forms of exercise intervention, treadmill training and voluntary wheel running, were conducted for high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese mice.

Background: Histological grade is an important factor in the overall prognosis of patients with invasive breast cancer. Therefore, the non-invasive assessment of histological grade in breast cancer patients is an increasing concern for clinicians. We aimed to establish an MRI-based radiomics model for preoperative prediction of invasive breast cancer histological grade.

Objective: To analyze the trends in disease burden of diabetes-related chronic kidney disease (CKD) by year, age, gender and types of diabetes in China from 1990 to 2019.
Methods: Data on prevalence, deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for diabetes-related CKD were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2019 study. Analyses were performed by year, age, gender and types of diabetes.
Background: Low bone mineral density (LBMD), including osteoporosis and low bone mass, has becoming a serious public health concern. We aimed to estimate the disease burden of LBMD and its related fractures in 204 countries and territories over the past 30 years.
Methods: We collected detailed information and performed a secondary analysis for LBMD and its related fractures from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019.
Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) is an enterovirus that can cause acute diarrhea and death in piglets and cause serious economic losses to the pig industry. SADS-CoV membrane (M) protein mainly plays a key role in biological processes, such as virus assembly, budding, and host innate immune regulation. Understanding the interaction between M protein and host proteins is very important to define the molecular mechanism of cells at the protein level and to understand specific cellular physiological pathways.

However, there is little direct evidence to explain why ASP possesses the observed lipid-lowering and anti-oxidation effects. Postsurgical localized chemotherapy for breast cancer recurrence (BCR) still faces many problems which dampen researchers' enthusiasm and discounted prognosis. Simple strategies with controllable toxicities are expected to address these hurdles. Lentinan (LNT) has excellent biocompatibility and notable antitumor activity but rather low bioavailability after intravenous or oral administration.
