HSV-1 UL56 protein recruits cellular NEDD4-family ubiquitin ligases to suppress CD1d expression and NKT cell function.

Unlabelled: Herpesviruses, including α-herpesvirus and herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), are masters of immune evasion. Previously we demonstrated that CD1d-restricted NKT cells are required for optimal anti-HSV-1 immune responses and HSV-1 efficiently downregulates CD1d to suppress NKT cell function. To delineate how the virus evades NKT cell function and establishes infection , we screened an HSV-1 expression library to identify the viral gene(s) downregulating CD1d and discovered that a leaky late gene, UL56, most efficiently suppresses CD1d expression by degrading the protein, apparently via both proteasome- and lysosome-dependent pathways.

Effects of greenness in university campuses on test anxiety among Chinese university students during COVID-19 lockdowns: a correlational and mediation analysis.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlations of greenness exposure with test anxiety among university students during COVID-19 lockdowns and to explore their mechanisms. We conducted a cross-sectional study with 2609 university students in Anhui and Shandong provinces, China. We assessed perceived campus greenness using a five-point Likert scale for quality, visibility, abundance, usage, and accessibility.

[Transcriptomic and benzoate metabolic pathways of Rhodococcus sp. R04 cultured in biphenyl].

Objective: Studying transcriptional characteristics of Rhodococcus sp. R04 is to find the genes that participate in the transportation, metabolism and regulation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and disclose the molecular mechanism of biodegradation of PCBs.

Methods: Strain R04 was separately cultivated on ethanol, glucose and biphenyl.

Application of three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide-gold composite modified electrode for direct electrochemistry and electrocatalysis of myoglobin.

In this paper a three-dimensional (3D) reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and gold (Au) composite was synthesized by electrodeposition and used for the electrode modification with carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE) as the substrate electrode. Myoglobin (Mb) was further immobilized on the surface of 3D RGO-Au/CILE to obtain an electrochemical sensing platform. Direct electrochemistry of Mb on the modified electrode was investigated with a pair of well-defined redox waves appeared on cyclic voltammogram, indicating the realization of direct electron transfer of Mb with the modified electrode.

[A new compositive algorithm of ST-segment].

In this paper we introduce a new algorithm about ST-segment--Triangle way. At the same time, based on analyzing all kinds of algorithms, we have summarized a compositive algorithm used to detect the emulating data. The testing result shows that the algorithm, which is easy to use, has a high speed and a good accuracy.
