Among the earliest synthetic antipyretic drugs, phenacetin (PNCT) could be used as the novel partial nitrification (PN) inhibitor to effectively inhibit nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB). In practical application, the rapidly starting of PN could provide stable source of nitrite for anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) process. However, impact of PNCT on anaerobic ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AnAOB) and its underlying mechanisms were not clear.

In this study, UiO-66 was selected as sorbent media packed in the tube to selectively enrich trace levels of benzene homologues such as benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) in ambient air prior to thermal desorption (TD)-GC-MS determination. A series of experiments were conducted to obtain the optimal TD conditions. The results indicated that the optimal TD parameters were as follows: desorption temperature of 180°C, desorption flow rate of 50 mL min, and desorption time of 30 min.

The dual functional detection and removal of heavy ion metals by carbon dots has become an urgent matter of concern. Here, a unique fluorescent carbon dot-magnetic nanocomposite (FeO/CDs) was prepared by hydrothermal methods for sensitive detection of Hg. The FeO/CDs serve as fluorescent probes with higher selectivity and sensitivity for Hg, with the lowest detectable limit of 0.
