Background: Describe the accurate locations of lymph node recurrence (LNR) of Chinese patients with postoperative thoracic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is essential for determining the need for further surveillance protocols and treatments. The authors aimed to evaluate the patterns of postoperative ESCC and its current risk stratification with LNR.

Methods: This population-based cohort study included a retrospective review of the medical records and image material of patients with ESCC who underwent LNR after radical surgery between January 2013 and September 2022, with a median follow-up time of 5.

To evaluate the causal relationship between genetically determined telomere length (TL) and atherosclerosis (AS). We performed a 2-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study to assess the potential causal relationship between TL and AS (coronary AS, cerebral AS, peripheral atherosclerosis (PAD), and AS, excluding cerebral, coronary, and PAD). The TL phenotype contained 472,174 participants, and the 4 subtypes of AS had 361,194, 218,792, 168,832, and 213,140 participants, all of European ancestries.

Dance-based mind-motor activities were defined as coordinated upright mind-motor movements that emphasize dynamic balance, structured through music or an inner rhythm (e.

Objective: We performed a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials to compare the efficacy of brain radiotherapy (RT) combined with temozolomide (TMZ) versus RT alone as first-line treatment for brain metastases (BM).

Methods: Medline, Embase, and Pubmed were used to search for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Two investigators reviewed the abstracts and independently rated the quality of trials and relevant data.

Article Synopsis
  • Subcutaneous tissue rarely serves as a site for metastasis, representing just 1-2% of lung tumors.
  • Positron emission tomography (PET) using ¹⁸F-FDG improves the diagnosis of subcutaneous metastases.
  • A 58-year-old woman showed three subcutaneous nodules on PET/CT, which were confirmed to be metastases of moderately differentiated lung squamous cell carcinoma; the variability in ¹⁸F-FDG accumulation underscored the need for histological confirmation.
