Three low molecular weight (LMW) sweeteners (D-tagatose, erythritol, and trehalose) were studied in yoghurt formulations to investigate their effects on syneresis, rheological properties, water distribution, and microstructural characteristics. The results indicated that trehalose improved syneresis, the fermentation process, and rheological properties compared to yoghurt fortified with sucrose, while D-tagatose and erythritol demonstrated the opposite effects on fermentation. With the addition of LMW sweeteners, the apparent viscosity and frequency sweep of yoghurt increased, with trehalose showing a better effect than sucrose or the other two LMW sweeteners.

Development of efficient microbial strains for biomanufacturing requires deep understanding of the biology and functional components responsible for the synthesis, transport, and tolerance of the target compounds. A high-quality controllable gene overexpression strain collection was constructed for the industrial workhorse Corynebacterium glutamicum covering 99.7% of its genes.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of the clinical data of prostate cancer initially diagnosed in the Department of Urology of Gansu Provincial People's Hospital from June 2017 to June 2022. Logistic regression (LR) and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) are used to jointly screen the model features.
Tibetan-speaking patients seeking care in predominantly Mandarin-speaking healthcare settings frequently face communication barriers, leading to potential disparities and difficulties in accessing care. To address this issue, we translated, culturally adapted, and validated the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and the Global Rating of Change (GRoC) into Tibetan (NPRS-Tib and GRoC-Tib), aiming to facilitate cross-linguistic and cross-cultural interactions while examining potential challenges in the adaptation process. Using standard translation-backward translation methods, expert review, pilot testing, and validation through a cross-sectional study with a short-term longitudinal component, we engaged 100 Tibetan patients with musculoskeletal trauma for psychometric validation, including 37 women (aged 22-60 years, mean age 39.

High-resolution, long-term open data are necessary to help study residential electricity consumption, smart home technologies, and electricity flexibility technologies at household level. This paper introduces an IoT-based data collection platform (IDCP) consisting of gateways, sensors, and cloud servers.

Methods: Twenty-two types of milk and dairy products were collected in 2022-2023, including 14 types produced in Ningxia and 8 types not produced in Ningxia. Fatty acids were determined and analyzed according to the first method of National Standard for Food Safety Determination of fatty acids in Food(GB 5009.

Purpose: To identify the predictive role of pretreatment skeletal muscle mass index (SMI) for long-term survival of bladder cancer patients.
Methods: Several databases were searched for studies investigating the relationship between pretreatment SMI and prognosis in bladder cancer. The overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) were defined as primary and secondary outcomes, respectively.
Objectives: To theoretically confirm that the glenohumeral ligament (GHL), specifically the inferior glenohumeral ligament (IGHL), plays an important role in posterior shoulder stability in different postures, and to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of posterior shoulder instability (PSI).
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, bone-ligament-bone models were established in 15 fresh adult shoulder joint specimens and selective cutting was performed for analysis. The humeral head was loaded posteriorly at a central pressure of 22N using the INSTRON8874 biomechanical testing system and the load-displacement curve was plotted.
Background: The rate of bile duct injury in laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) continues to be high due to low critical view of safety (CVS) achievement and the absence of an effective quality control system. The development of an intelligent system enables the automatic quality control of LC surgery and, eventually, the mitigation of bile duct injury. This study aims to develop an intelligent surgical quality control system for LC and using the system to evaluate LC videos and investigate factors associated with CVS achievement.

Methods: The clinical data of a boy aged 13 years and 5 months with left forearm deformity and growth retardation as the main features were analyzed. Genomic exon detection was performed, and the results were verified by Sanger sequencing.
A great number of cell disease models with pathogenic SNVs are needed for the development of genome editing based therapeutics or broadly basic scientific research. However, the generation of traditional cell disease models is heavily dependent on large-scale manual operations, which is not only time-consuming, but also costly and error-prone. In this study, we devise an automated high-throughput platform, through which thousands of samples are automatically edited within a week, providing edited cells with high efficiency.

The effectiveness of continuous nursing intervention for intraoperative pressure ulcers related complications in breast cancer patients is highly controversial. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically review and address this issue by means of meta-analysis.

Different metal materials attached to the copper foam substrate can change the valence states of copper and oxygen, resulting in the change of electronic structure of the materials, thus changing its catalytic activity.

Whether the gut microbiome under normal diet regulate human height remains to be addressed. Our study explored the possible relationship between gut microbiota, its metabolic products and the pathogenesis of idiopathic short stature disease (ISS) by comparing the gut microbiota between children with ISS and of normal height, and also the short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) produced by the gut microbiota.

Methods: We defined 14 LC basic Surgestures. Four surgeons annotated Surgestures among LC videos performed by experts and novices.
Objective: To evaluate whether core decompression could prevent progression of asymptomatic type C osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) according to the Japanese Investigation Committee (JIC) classification.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 124 hips (117 patients) with asymptomatic type C ONFH. Seventy-one hips (67 patients) received core decompression (core decompression group) and 53 hips (50 patients) received no surgical treatment (control group).
