Objective: Mutations in the NLRP3gene have previously been linked to certain forms of cancer, but there have not been any specific studies examining the association between NLRP3 polymorphisms and cervical cancer (CC). This study was therefore designed to investigate the effect of NLRP3 gene polymorphisms on HPV infection and cervical cancer in southern Chinese population.
Methods: Multiplex PCR and next-generation sequencing approaches were used to assess the NLRP3 rs10754558 and rs10733113 polymorphisms in 404 cervical lesion patients, including 227 diagnosed with CC and 177 diagnosed with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN), with 419 healthy female controls being included for comparison.
Background: Patients with endotracheal intubation or tracheostomy are subject to benign tracheal stenosis (TS), for which current therapies are unsatisfactory. We conducted a preliminary investigation of drugs and drug combinations for the prevention and treatment of TS in a rabbit model.
Methods: Fifty-four rabbits were apportioned into nine groups according to treatment: sham-operated control; untreated TS model; amikacin; budesonide; erythromycin; penicillin; amikacin + budesonide; erythromycin + budesonide; and penicillin + budesonide.
Background: To evaluate the short-term and long-term outcomes after laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH) compared with abdominal hysterectomy (AH) in case of benign gynecological disease.
Methods: A multi-center cohort retrospective comparative study of population among 4,895 hysterectomies (3,539 LH vs.1,356 AH) between 2007 and 2013 was involved.
