THCA (Thyroid carcinoma) is the most common endocrine malignancy in the world. The PLOD1 is highly expressed in THCA, but the mechanism is still unclear. It is found that the cell proliferation and migration were inhibited in si-PLOD1 group, and promoted with PLOD1 overexpression.

Self-labeling protein tags can introduce advanced molecular motifs to specific cellular proteins. Here we introduce the third-generation covalent TMP-tag (TMP-tag3) and showcase its comparison with HaloTag and SNAP-tag. TMP-tag3 is based on a proximity-induced covalent Michael addition between an engineered Cys of E.

Zinc biology, featuring intertwining signaling networks and critical importance to human health, witnesses exciting opportunities in the big data era of physiology. Here, we report a class of red- and far-red-emitting Zn probes with K values ranging from 190 nM to 74 μM, which are particularly suitable for real-time monitoring the high concentration of Zn co-released with insulin during vesicular secretory events. Compared to the prototypical rhodamine-based Zn probes, the new class exploits morpholino auxochromes which eliminates phototoxicity during long-term live recording of isolated islets.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is one of the fastest growing endocrine system malignant carcinomas detected over the past decade. Unfortunately, more than 25% of PTC patients are characterized by their aggressiveness and subsequent metastasis; these characteristics usually indicate poor prognosis. Recently, increasing evidence has suggested that solute carrier (SLC) transporters may play a pivotal role in the initiation, invasion and metastasis of human carcinoma.

The aim of the present study was to elucidate the association between excessive chronic iodine exposure and the risk of developing papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). The demographic information and pathological characteristics of patients with thyroid nodules were retrieved from medical records at The Second Hospital of Shandong University. A fasting urine specimen was collected, and creatinine and urinary iodine concentration (UIC) were determined.

Introduction: Gastric cancer is third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide and remarkably threatens human health and life. BAIAP2L2 is an epithelial-specific BAR domain protein that considered to be closely related to cell migration. In this study, we explored the specific role of BAIAP2L2 in human gastric cancer.

Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic effects of locked supracondylar intramedullary nail and bolt for treating comminuted fracture in the distal end of the femur.

Methods: Forty-two patients (including 31 male and 11 female patients) with supracondylar and intercondylar fractures, classified into type C1 in 20 cases and type C2 in 22 cases according to AO classification, were treated with retrograde intramedullary nail and bolt.

Results: The follow-up period ranged from 3 to 18 months and the average time of bone healing was 4.
