Background: Soluble low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1 (sLRP1) and soluble receptor of advanced glycation end products (sRAGE) play major roles in peripheral clearance of amyloid-β (Aβ).
Objective: To determine the relationship between baseline sLRP1/sRAGE and early cognitive decline in a longitudinal study and explore the possible effect of apolipoprotein E (APOE) on their association.
Methods: Cognitively normal subjects were followed-up for 4 years.

Cutting is an imperative operation in the food-manufacturing factory, separating food into a predefined geometry. A broad range of solid foods, with various components, textures, and structures, pose enormous challenges to conventional cutting strategies. Additionally, the cutting performance is significantly impacted by the processing parameters, wherein trial-and-error or empirical methods are often used to select the parameters in source-wasting and time-consuming ways.

At present, 3D-printed microfluidic systems face the challenges of post-processing, non-transparency, and being time consuming, limiting their practical application. In this study, a time-efficient and inexpensive fabrication method was developed for 3D-printed microfluidic devices.

Thus, it is necessary to investigate the underlying regulation mechanisms and potential biomarkers for NPC metastasis. Nogo-B (neurite outgrowth inhibitor B), encoded by reticulon-4, has been shown to be associated with the progression and advanced stage of several cancer types.

Methods: Forty patients with suspicion of sacroiliitis underwent both CT and MR scans of SIJs with 80 SIJs (160 bone articular surfaces) included for analysis. Two readers independently scored SIJs for structural lesions on CT and MR images.
We provide a first view of vulnerable informal economy after the blows from COVID-19, using transaction-level business data of around 80 million offline micro businesses (OMBs) owners from the largest Fintech company in China and employing machine learning method for causal inference. We find that the OMBs activities in China experienced an immediate and dramatic drop of 50% during the trough. The businesses had rebounded to around 80% of where they should be seven weeks after the COVID-19 outbreak, but had remained at this level until the end of our time window.

Alcohol dehydrogenase and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase are both important enzymes in alcohol metabolism. This study aimed to investigate the incidence rate of malignant transformation in patients with VCL and the role of drinking habits and ALDH2 and ADH1B genetic polymorphisms in the malignant transformation of VCL.

The development of virus-resistant plants is a desirable strategy for the efficient control of viral diseases. However, natural resistant resources have not been reported in the genus Vitis, and anti-GLRaV-3 research has been quite limited in grapevine.

Methods: 22 subjects with concerned lumbar degeneration were recruited. All subjects were scanned with ZTE sequence after routine conventional MR sequences on a 3.
Immobilization and release of colloids are important for colloids-facilitated migrations, and in the safety assessment of geological disposal for high-level radioactive waste, the association between the immobilization and release process of the bentonite colloids with selenite migration has not been well revealed. In this work, the migration of bentonite colloids under different conditions is evaluated, and the effects of colloids immobilization and release on selenite migration are studied. In addition, the cases of in-migration (colloids are immobilized in the quartz sand, and then selenite migrates through the quartz sand with immobilized colloids) and co-migration (colloids bearing selenite are immobilized in the quartz sand) are investigated.

In particular, large-diameter s-SWCNTs (>1.2 nm) exhibit more advantages over small-diameter ones in high-performance electronic applications because of their higher charge carrier mobility and reduced Schottky barrier height.

However, the growth of Taxus plants is very slow and the content of taxol is quite low. Therefore, it is of great significance to improve the yield of taxol by modern biotechnology without destroying the wild forest resources.

This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs) among adolescents during the COVID-19 period. The study also examined the relationships between psychosocial stressors and adolescents' EBPs, and explored the potential explanatory value of loneliness for any associations observed.

Episodic memory is an essential function of the human being related to the ability to store and remember experiences and anticipate possible events in the future. Studying this function in this context is crucial to understand what effects the pandemic will have on the formation of episodic memories.

A detailed understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of uterine sarcoma in the real world is required due to its low incidence, high malignancy, lack of specific symptoms, and lack of high-level evidence supporting its clinical diagnosis and treatment. This study aimed to provide a basis for the standardized diagnosis and treatment of uterine sarcoma. It retrospectively analyzed the real-world data on the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of uterine sarcoma in western China.

However, it is still difficult to understand the structural composition of the bacterial and fungal microbiomes of diseased and healthy plants, especially the spatial dynamics and phylogenies of endophytic and rhizosphere microbial communities. We studied the differentiation and variability in the rhizosphere and endosphere microbiomes of healthy and diseased cotton from north and south of the Tianshan Mountains using the methods of PCR-based high-throughput sequencing and real-time quantitative PCR.

Here, we utilized 4-thiouridine (sU) as a metabolic tag to label nascent RNA and developed a fluorescence imaging method based on the DNA-templated oxidative amination (DTOA) reaction of sU. The DTOA reaction occurred between amine-modified DNA and sU-containing RNA with high sequence specificity and chemical selectivity.

Automatic analysis of fetal heart and related components in fetal echocardiography can help cardiologists to reach a diagnosis for Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Previous studies mainly focused on cardiac chamber segmentation, while few researches deal with the cardiac component detection. In this paper, we tackle the task of simultaneous detection of the fetal heart and descending aorta in four-chamber view of fetal echocardiography, which is useful to analyze some kinds of CHD, such as left/right atrial isomerism, dextroversion of heart, etc.
