Background: Due to its complex pathogenesis, the assessment of cancer-associated disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is challenging. We aimed to develop a machine learning (ML) model to predict overt DIC in critically ill colorectal cancer (CRC) patients using clinical features and laboratory indicators.
Methods: This retrospective study enrolled consecutive CRC patients admitted to the intensive care unit from January 2018 to December 2023.

In this study, a series of novel compounds were synthesized by introducing the 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl and isatin groups into the monocarbonyl skeleton of curcumin. The possible biological activities and potential targets for these compounds were explored through network pharmacology. The results revealed that these compounds could significantly inhibit production of the inflammatory factors IL-6 and TNF-α, and suppress phosphorylation of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) protein.
