Objective: This study aimed to analyze the clinicopathological features of pure and mixed-type ovarian clear cell carcinoma (CCC) in Chinese patients.
Methods: Patients with ovarian CCC treated in our institution between 1982 and 2012 were identified by reviewing the database and medical charts. Patients were assigned into 2 groups based on histology (pure or mixed).
Objective: To study the clinical features, treatment and prognosis of struma ovarii.
Methods: From January 1990 to January 2012, a total of 68 patients were diagnosed struma ovarii at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Clinical data of these patients were studied retrospectively.
Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics of patients with Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich syndrome (HWWS) and explore the relationship between an obstructive genital abnormality and pelvic endometriosis.
Design: Case series.
Setting: University hospital.

Objectives: Quality of life (QoL) and sexual health have become increasingly important in cervical cancer survivors (CCSs). The aims of this review were to summarize research findings of QoL and sexual function in CCSs after treatment on the basis of self-reported questionnaires and to update the current knowledge of overall QoL and sexual function in CCSs.
Methods: Studies from electronic database between May 1966 and May 2013 were rated on their internal validity as methodological assessment.

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the preoperative assessments of primary tumor size, parametrial invasion, and pelvic lymph node metastasis in patients with early-stage cervical cancer.
Materials And Methods: A cohort of 125 patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage IA2 to IIA cervical cancer who had preoperative MRI and underwent radical hysterectomy were enrolled and analyzed. The accuracy of preoperative MRI scan and pelvic examination in the measurement of tumor size was assessed based on postoperative measurement and pathologic findings.
Objective: To explore the operation skills of laparoendoscopic single site surgery (LESS) of total hysterectomy, to expand the application of LESS in the field of in gynecologic surgery.
Methods: A total of 23 cases of total hysterectomy were completed under laparoendoscopic single site surgery in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2012 to August 2013, applying with combination of the traditional laparoscopic and special LESS apparatuses, intelligent electronic coagulation and excision device and the self-fixed absorbable sutures (V-LOC). The datas of the patients during the operations and the follow-up were recorded and analyzed.
Objective: To report the clinical features of ovarian teratoma in patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis.
Methods: The clinical information of five female patients with ovarian teratoma and anti-NMDAR encephalitis in Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University from June 2011 to May 2013 were obtained. Relevant literatures were reviewed.
Objective: To evaluate the prognosis and fertility outcomes of patients with early stage of cervical cancer treated by vaginal radical trachelectomy (VRT) in combination with laparoscopic pelvic lymphadenectomy.
Methods: The surgical data, disease recurrences and fertility outcomes were analyzed retrospectively for 51 patients who received VRT in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from Dec. 2003 to Nov.

Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics and treatment of the Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich syndrome (HWWS).
Methods: Sixty-one patients diagnosed with HWWS were retrospectively analyzed. HWWS is categorized into three types in China.
Objective: To investigate clinical outcome of laparoendoscopic single-site compared with traditional three-port in treatment of ovarian cystectomy.
Method: From February 2012 to June 2013, 54 patients with ovarian cyst were randomized to the single-site group (n = 24) or the three-port group (n = 30) in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The outcome of laparoscopic single-site and three-port ovarian cystectomy were evaluated.
Objective: To evaluate clinical and sexual outcomes in women with severe uterine prolapsed at child-bearing period undergoing laparoscopic high uterosacral ligament suspension combined with cervical amputation.
Methods: From November 2007 to March 2010, 34 patients ( ≤ 50 years old) with severe uterine prolapse (prolapse group) who had already given birth and underwent laparoscopic high uterosacral ligament suspension combined with cervical amputation in Peking Union Medical College Hospital were enrolled in this retrospective study. All patients were defined as Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q) stage III.
Background: Numerous studies have described the association between polymorphisms in the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) gene and risk of endometriosis. However, the results remain controversial. Here we reviewed studies reporting the association between TNF gene polymorphisms and endometriosis risk in Asians.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical role of dilation and curettage (DC) in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy (EP).
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of 108 patients with pregnancy of unknown location who underwent a DC with an abnormal rise in β-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) level and without visible intrauterine pregnancy (IUP) on transvaginal ultrasound and 24 patients who did not receive DC with β-HCG>5 000 IU/L.The final diagnosis depended on β-HCG trend review after DC and the pathologic and laparoscopic findings.
Background: During the past decade, graft materials have been widespread used in the vagina in order to correct pelvic organ prolapse. The aim of this study was to describe and compare the exact anatomical position of the puncture devices and their relations to the relevant anatomical structures in the Prolift(TM) and a modified pelvic reconstructive surgery with mesh.
Methods: Twelve fresh cadavers were allocated randomly to either the Prolift(TM) or the modified pelvic reconstructive surgery group.

Objective: The aims of this study were to investigate microRNA (miRNA) expression profiles in the periurethral vaginal wall tissues of postmenopausal women with and without stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and to explore the putative target genes associated with SUI via miRNA-messenger RNA (mRNA) pair prediction.
Methods: Periurethral vaginal wall tissues of postmenopausal women with SUI (n = 13) and matched continent postmenopausal women (n = 13) were collected during transvaginal surgical operation. Total RNAs were extracted and miRNAs were profiled by TaqMan Array Human MicroRNA assays in three case-control pairs.
Cervical cancer is currently the first or second leading cause of cancer-related mortality among women in developing countries. This study was conducted in order to determine whether neoadjuvant cisplatin and 5-flourouracil (NAPF) prior to surgery is superior to primary surgical treatment (PST) as a treatment option for patients with International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage IB2/IIA2 cervical cancer. A retrospective review of 195 patients with early-stage bulky cervical cancer was performed.

Peritoneovaginoplasty aims to extend vagina by vesical peritoneum and anterior rectal wall to improve postoperative sexual function.
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate whether vaginal extension can improve sexual function and quality of life and the problem of sexual dysfunction in early-stage cervical cancer survivors (CCSs) in China.
The malignant transformation of abdominal wall endometriosis is a rare event and poorly understood. Less than 30 cases have been reported in the literature. Most of the reported cases have a solitary tumor in the abdominal scar.
