Growing attention has been directed toward the critical role of polyamines in the tumor microenvironment and immune regulation. Polyamines, primarily comprising putrescine, spermidine, and spermine, are tightly regulated through coordinated biosynthesis, catabolism, and transport, with distinct metabolic patterns between normal and cancerous tissues. Emerging evidence highlights the pivotal role of polyamine metabolism in tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis.

This research introduces and validates the diagnostic performance of H4C6/SOX1-OT gene methylation in the diagnosis of BCa based on urine samples by designing two parts of studies: the case-control study and the prospective validation study.

"Fishbone" Design of Amino/N-Spirocyclic Cations toward High-Performance Poly(triphenylene piperidine) Anion-Exchange Membranes for Fuel Cells.

-Spirocyclic cations have excellent alkali resistance stability, and precise design of the structure of -spirocyclic anion-exchange membranes (AEMs) improves their comprehensive performance. Here, we design and synthesize high-performance poly(triphenylene piperidine) membranes based on the "fishbone" design of amino/-spirocyclic cations. The "fishbone" design does not disrupt the overall stabilized conformation but promotes a microphase separation structure, while exerting the synergistic effect of piperidine cations and spirocyclic cations, resulting in a membrane with good conductivity and alkali resistance stability.

Methods: Relevant publications on AIG in the Web of Science Core Collection were collated, and data visualization and analysis of the number of publications, countries, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and citations were performed using software such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Scimago Graphic.

Recombinant protein drugs, which are typically produced by mammalian host cells, have been approved for the treatment of a range of diseases. Accordingly, systems for selecting recombinant cell lines with efficient protein expression and for testing the content of recombinant proteins in vivo are crucial to the large-scale production and application of protein-based therapeutic drugs. In this study, we designed three aptamer beacons to detect His-tag, a common label of recombinant proteins.

Up-regulation of BTLA expression in myeloid dendritic cells associated with the treatment outcome of neonatal sepsis.

Dentritic cells (DCs) dysfunction has been verified detrimental for sepsis and B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA) is an immune-regulatory receptor shown to be associated with DCs dysfunction. However, the role of BTLA expression in myeloid DCs (mDCs) in neonatal sepsis is unknown. In the current study, we found BTLA-expressing mDCs were elevated in neonates with sepsis and the BTLA expression level in mDCs was positively correlated to the severity of sepsis.

Comparisons of tissue distributions and health risks of perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) in two fish species with different trophic levels from Lake Chaohu, China.

Perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are a type of persistent organic pollutants that are widely distributed in multiple environmental media and organisms and have a teratogenic effect on and toxicity to animals and humans. The residual levels of seventeen PFAAs in the tissues of two regular consumption fish species, Culter erythropterus and Aristichthys nobilis in Lake Chaohu were measured by a high-performance liquid chromatograph - mass spectrometer (HPLC-MS). The distributions of PFAAs and the effect of the lipid contents were analyzed, and the health risks of typical PFAAs were evaluated.

Reevaluation of a rightward shift in colorectal cancer: A single-center retrospective study in Tianjin.

Objectives: Some Western reports have shown a proximal shift in colorectal cancer (CRC), but there are few studies in China. This study aimed to provide more information for the management and screening of CRC by investigating trends in the anatomic distribution of CRC among the Chinese population in recent years.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on patients with CRC admitted to the Digestive Endoscopy Center of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital between January 2000 and December 2017.

Effects of fluorescent dissolved organic matters (FDOMs) on perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) in lake and river water.

This study presents the effects of fluorescent dissolved organic matters (FDOM) on perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) in western Lake Chaohu and its inflow rivers. The surface water samples from the 27 sites in western Lake Chaohu and its inflow rivers were collected in March and September 2013. The contents of PFAAs and the FDOM in the water samples were measured by a high-performance liquid chromatograph - mass spectrometer (HPLC-MS) and by a fluorescence spectrophotometer, respectively.

Clinical correlation of B7-H3 and B3GALT4 with the prognosis of colorectal cancer.

Aim: To investigate the expression and clinical significance of B7 homolog 3 (B7-H3) and β-1,3-galactosyltransferase-4 (B3GALT4) in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients.

Methods: Using tissue microarray, we identified the expression of B7-H3 and B3GALT4 in 223 CRC patient samples by immunohistochemistry and evaluated the possible correlation between B7-H3 and B3GALT4 and clinical outcomes. Further, the mRNA and protein expression were identified to establish the regulatory relationship of B7-H3 with B3GALT4 .

[Nursing Care Experiences of Periwound Moisture-Associated Dermatitis After Simultaneous Pancreas-Kidney Transplantation].

Simultaneous pancreas-kidney (SPK) transplantation is the primary surgical treatment for type I diabetes mellitus with end-stage renal disease. However, this transplant surgery has a high-risk of surgical complications, including duodenal anastomotic leakage, which may lead to pancreas transplantation failure if the leakage worsens. This case report describes a patient who suffered from duodenal anastomotic leakage after SPK transplantation.

Three new polyacetylated labdane diterpenoids ptychantins P-R (1-3) and four known compounds (4-7) were isolated from an EtOH extract of the Chinese liverwort Ptychanthus striatus (Lehm. & Lindenb.) Nees.

Notolutesins A-J, dolabrane-type diterpenoids from the Chinese liverwort Notoscyphus lutescens.

Ten new dolabrane-type diterpenoids, notolutesins A-J (1-10), were isolated from the Chinese liverwort Notoscyphus lutescens, along with four known compounds. The structures of the new compounds were established on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data, and that of 1 was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The absolute configuration of 1 was determined by comparing its experimental and calculated electronic circular dichroism spectra.

[Expression of BCR/ABL fusion gene in circulating endothelial cells from chronic myelogenous leukemia patients and its clinical significance].

Several studies have shown that the tumor endothelial cells are different from the normal tissue endothelial cells. These tumor endothelial cells may contribute to tumor neo-vasculogenesis. This study was purposed to analyze the biologic features and determine the expression level of CD133 and BCR/ABL fusion gene in circulating endothelial cells (CEC) isolated from peripheral blood of CML patients, as well as to investigate the role of CEC in disease progression.
