Little is known about the mediating effect of attitude toward older adults on the relationship between aging knowledge and willingness to care for older adults. Objective: This study aimed to examine the intentions of and barriers to vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) among women aged 20 to 45 in rural areas, and to determine the popular sources to getting information about HPV vaccine and vaccination.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2018 with a sample of women aged 20 to 45 from rural areas of Hunan Province in China. Anonymous self-administered questionnaires were used to collect sociodemographic information and characteristics related to reproductive health of participants, and intentions of and barriers to HPV vaccination.
