Excessive nitrogen fertilizer application is the main driving force threatening soil health and reducing multiple soil functions. The enhanced-efficiency nitrogen fertilizers (EENFs), such as urease inhibitors (NBPT), nitrification inhibitors (DCD), and coated controlled-release urea (RCN), have been proven to be effective measures for reducing nitrogen fertilizer application. However, the effects of EENFs on soil quality (SQI), microbial metabolic characteristics, and soil ecosystem multifunctionality (EMF) and their internal relationships are still unclear.

Background: The development mechanisms of Lynch syndrome (LS)-related breast cancer (BC) and rectal cancer are complex and variable, leading to personalized variations in diagnosis and treatment plans.
Case Summary: This paper presents a comprehensive review of clinical diagnosis and treatment data from a patient with LS-associated BC and rectal cancer. Moreover, screening data and management guidelines, as well as relevant literature on LS, are included in this report.
Background And Aims: Specific mechanisms of lymph node (LN) metastasis in early-stage gastric cancer (GC) have not been elucidated. The role of anemia, a vital clinical feature of GC, in LN metastasis is also unclear. Since the number of erythroid progenitor cells (EPCs) is increased in chronic anemia, we investigated its association with LN metastasis in GC.

We developed a simple and effective method for eyelid reconstruction after resection of a minor nevus on the eyelid margin. With a vertical advancement flap to repair the defect, all patients were satisfied with the cosmetic and functional results of the eyelids, and no significant complications occurred.

This study is to observe clinical effectiveness and safety of intradiscal local anesthetic injection for intraoperative pain relief.
Methods: Total 268 patients who underwent PTED were analyzed.
Previous studies in showed that resistance to methyl benzimidazole carbamates (MBCs) was mainly related to E198A/V/K and F200Y mutations of the β-tubulin gene, and E198V was the dominant mutation in the resistant subpopulation in Hubei Province of China, indicating that resistant mutations might influence fitness. However, little is known about the effect of each E198A/V/K mutation on fitness. In this study, the fitness and competitive ability of isolates with E198A/V/K mutations were investigated.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated gastric carcinoma (EBVaGC) is a distinct entity with a conspicuous tumor microenvironment compared with EBV-negative gastric carcinoma. However, the exact role of EBV in gastric carcinogenesis remains elusive. In the present study, we found that EBV upregulated CXCL8 expression, and CXCL8 significantly promoted vasculogenic mimicry (VM) formation of gastric carcinoma (GC) cells.

Recently, EBV was reported to generate various circular RNAs (circRNAs). CircRNAs are important regulators of tumorigenesis by modulating the malignant behaviors of tumor cells.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFEBV-encoded circular RNA LMP2A (ebv-circLMP2A) was found to be expressed in EBV-associated gastric carcinoma (EBVaGC) and associated with distant metastasis and poor prognosis. Angiogenesis is a key step in tumor invasion and metastasis and plays a crucial role in tumor progression. However, it is unclear whether and how ebv-circLMP2A is involved in angiogenesis.

It has obviously different clinical features and pathological manifestations from EBV-negative gastric carcinoma, but its progression remains elusive. The underlying cancer progression of viral infection detected by genome-wide transcriptome analysis has been demonstrated in numerous diseases.

Topical beta-blockers are effective in superficial IHs management, while intralesionally injected diprospan is effective at treating deep, localized IHs. A single application of topical timolol or injected diprospan has obvious limitations.

EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is a distinct subtype of gastric cancer with unique clinicopathological and molecular features. However, whether CSCs exist in EBVaGC, and the tumorigenic mechanism of EBV, remains unclear.

Robots are widely used in various aspects of dentistry, such as prosthodontics, orthodontics, implants, endodontics, and oral surgery. This article mainly introduces the application of robots in stomatology from the above five aspects.

Here, we applied RNAscope to improve HCC early pathological and differential diagnosis by estimating GPC3 and GS mRNAs.
Methods: We performed RNAscope and immunohistochemistry (IHC) to detect GPC3 and GS biomarkers on the tissue sections of 194 cases, including high- and low-grade liver dysplastic nodules; highly, moderately, and poorly differentiated HCCs; intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas (ICCs); metastatic HCC; and carcinomas from other organs.
PbS colloidal quantum dots passivated by the thiocyanate anion (SCN) are developed to combine with perovskite (CHNHPbI) as building blocks for UV-vis-NIR broadband photodetectors. Both high electrical conductivity and appropriate energy-level alignment are obtained by the in situ ligand exchange with SCN. The PbS-SCN/CHNHPbI composite photodetectors are sensitive to a broad wavelength range covering the UV-vis-NIR region (365-1550 nm), possessing an excellent responsivity of 255 A W at 365 nm and 1.

Our aim was to investigate the potential of antisense expression and overexpression of a specific gene, the carotenoid biosynthesis-related (CBR) gene, in the microalgae Dunaliella. DNA amplified from sense and antisense vector constructs was used to transform Dunaliella tertiolecta.
