Domain adaptation (DA) becomes an up-and-coming technique to address the insufficient or no annotation issue by exploiting external source knowledge. Existing DA algorithms mainly focus on practical knowledge transfer through domain alignment. Unfortunately, they ignore the fairness issue when the auxiliary source is extremely imbalanced across different categories, which results in severe under-presented knowledge adaptation of minority source set.

A multidentate tetrazole molecule based on a TPE core, tetrakis[4-(1-tetrazol-5-yl)phenyl]ethylene (Httpe) with combined advantages of two functional groups, was synthesized by cycloaddition reaction of the corresponding organic benzonitrile derivative and azide salt. Coordination self-assembly of the in situ formed aggregation-induced emission polytetrazole luminogen with cadmium(II) ion produces an unprecedented tetrazolyl-TPE-based microporous cationic metal-organic framework (MOF) with an unusual (4,5,8T14)-connected net of {[Cd(Httpe)Cl]·(N)}, in which the Httpe serves as the first undeprotonated tetrazole ligand of octa-coordinating bridging mode. We investigate, for the first time, the utilization of the luminescent MOF containing a TPE core decorated with tetrazolyl terminals for explosive detection based on the change in fluorescence intensity, which shows high selectivity and efficiency in fluorescence quenching toward TNP detection in water solution.

At present, it is highly important to develop a simple and compatible nano delivery system for pesticides for foliar application, which can improve their insecticidal efficacy and resistance to adverse climates while reducing the environmental risks. Polyethylene glycol and 4,4-methylenediphenyl diisocyanate are used as hydrophilic soft and hydrophobic hard segments, respectively, for polymer self-assembly and polyurethane gelation in a nanoreactor. The nanocarrier synthesis and the pesticide loading are realized by a one-step integration procedure and suited well for hydrophobic active compounds.

Oncogenic activation of KRAS and its surrogates is essential for tumour cell proliferation and survival, as well as for the development of protumourigenic microenvironments. Here, we show that the deubiquitinase USP12 is commonly downregulated in the Kras-driven mouse lung tumour and human non-small cell lung cancer owing to the activation of AKT-mTOR signalling. Downregulation of USP12 promotes lung tumour growth and fosters an immunosuppressive microenvironment with increased macrophage recruitment, hypervascularization, and reduced T cell activation.

Background Emergency cricothyrotomy is a critical, yet infrequently performed and time-sensitive procedure that requires practice in order to be reliably completed in emergent airway situations. Many physicians never have the opportunity to practice this rarely performed but highly impactful procedure during their training due to a lack of an affordable, high-fidelity training model. In this study, the educational impact and realism of a new synthetic cricothyrotomy training model (high-fidelity emergency cricothyrotomy, HiFEC) were compared with those of a standard porcine explant model.
