Herein, we describe a protocol for Brønsted acid-catalyzed regioselective coupling of azoles such as pyrazoles, 1,2,3-triazole, 1,3,4-triazole, benzotriazole, indazole and tetrazole, to cyclobutenes. These azoles could be directly coupled with various arylcyclobutenes with high site-selectivity, offering a distinct entry to more functionalized cyclobutanes. The usage of inexpensive TsOH•H2O catalyst, broad substrate scope, and open-air conditions make this protocol practically viable.

In the past decade, ferroptosis (a form of iron-dependent regulated cell death) has been reported to contribute to the pathogenesis and progression of various diseases. The stability of iron in cardiomyocytes is crucial for the maintenance of normal physiological cardiac activity.

Ferroelectricity was first observed in Rochelle salt, a compound with a chiral component in which the molecular chirality is not affected by depolarization. For structurally chiral ferroelectrics (SCFs), such as triglycine sulfate, which lacks chiral components, the depolarization effect on chirality presents an intriguing and unexplored topic.

Cyanide poisoning is also common in alcoholic beverages and water. Therefore, the cyanide content measurement in water and distilled spirits is essential.

Optimizing the model structure and operating conditions is the primary approach for enhancing the cooling performance of dew-point evaporation systems. In this paper, a novel mathematical model of the perforated dew-point evaporative cooler was developed to investigate its cooling performance.

Background: Environmental noise seriously affects people's health and life quality, but there is a scarcity of noise exposure data in metropolitan cities and at nighttime, especially in developing countries.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the environmental noise level by land use regression (LUR) models and create daytime and nighttime noise maps with high-resolution of Guangzhou municipality.
Methods: A total of 100 monitoring sites were randomly selected according to population density.
Due to the hallucination of the underlying large language model(LLMs) or the unclear description of the task's ultimate goal, the agents have become somewhat confused. Despite having completed tasks, they have not ceased working, leading to a waste of resource. We propose similarity-based task timely termination method for image-based intelligent agents, This method involves recording the scenario state after the completion of each sub-task and comparing it with the fully completed task scenario state using a structural similarity method.

A diet rich in anthocyanins can benefit human health against a broad spectrum of human diseases due to the high antioxidant activities of anthocyanins. Enrichment of anthocyanins in the starchy endosperm of rice is an effective solution to provide nutritional food in human diets. However, previous attempts failed to engineer anthocyanin biosynthesis in the rice endosperm by transgenic expression of rice endogenous genes.

Chronic inflammation is a common feature of these diseases and is closely related to angiogenesis (the process of forming new blood vessels), which is often dysregulated in pathological conditions. Inflammation potentially acts as a central mediator.

However, the role and underlying mechanism of pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory polarized macrophages in modulating ischemic diseases remain incompletely understood.
Results: here we examine the effect of pro-inflammatory (LPS) and anti-inflammatory (IL-4) macrophage on ischemic diseases in a mouse ischemic hindlimb and heart model, and identify that signal regulatory protein α (Sirpα) modulates macrophage polarization induced angiogenesis via promoting phagocytosis or activating HIF1α nucleus relocation in macrophages, respectively.
Affective computing is a key research area in computer science, neuroscience, and psychology, aimed at enabling computers to recognize, understand, and respond to human emotional states. As the demand for affective computing technology grows, emotion recognition methods based on physiological signals have become research hotspots. Among these, electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, which reflect brain activity, are highly promising.

In this study, we established a mouse psychological stress model using an improved communication box, in which the psychologically stressed mice received visual, auditory, and olfactory emotional stimuli from the mice receiving electric foot shock, thus avoiding physical stress interference. After the 14-day psychological stress paradigm, our mice exhibited a significant increase in depressive and anxious behaviors.

Arsenic biotransformation is mainly mediated by microorganisms which often employ diverse metabolic strategies for survival. However, the microorganisms responsible for As cycling and their survival strategies in geothermal environment in Tibet, the Third Pole, remain unclear.

-Methyl-2-hydroxy-1-ethanaminium lead iodide exhibits a low melting temperature ( = 99 °C) among 2D hybrid metal halides (HMHs). This discovery expands the low melting characteristics of 2D HMHs to include a stepped 9R-like structure, suggesting significant potential for melt-processing and hybrid glass formation.

The adoption of onshore-offshore wind and solar energy in 39 SIDS, which are currently experiencing the adverse effects of climate change, presents a significant opportunity. By harnessing renewable energy sources, these countries can effectively mitigate GHG emissions, enhance energy security, and build resilience.

Nickel-based electrocatalysts are promising for industrial water electrolysis, but the dense hydroxyl oxide layer formed during the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) limits active sites accessibility and presents challenges in balancing structural stability with effective charge transfer. Based on this, an efficient in situ leaching strategy is proposed to construct grain boundary-rich catalyst structure with high charge transfer ability and a deep catalytic active layer reached >200-nm. Under OER conditions, stable sub-nano NiAl particles are embedded in Ni(Fe)OOH, originating from leaching out the unstable NiAl phase of the initial NiAl/NiAl alloy doped with Fe.

This study aimed to assess the levels of enlarged perivascular spaces in basal ganglion (BG-EPVS) in cancer-associated patients who had a stroke compared with the control group, and to investigate the diagnostic utility of BG-EPVS in the context of cancer-associated stroke.
Method: A matched case-control study was conducted in Xiamen, China.
