Objectives: This study evaluates the effectiveness of nanopore sequencing for accurate detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis pathogens and drug resistance mutations in clinical specimens.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 2,421 specimens from suspected tuberculosis patients admitted to Xi'an Chest Hospital from 2022 to 2023 was conducted, with 131 specimens undergoing via real-time, fluorescence-based quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR), simultaneous amplification and testing RNA (RNA), Mycobacterium culture, Mycobacterium smear, and nanopore sequencing. Employing clinical tuberculosis diagnoses as the gold standard, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, concordance rate, and Kappa coefficient were measured for the five detection techniques.

Purpose: There is a lack of real-world data on the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, treatment effects, and prognosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). This study aimed to investigate the clinical features and prognostic factors of COVID-19 in patients with B-NHL.
Patients And Methods: This study included individuals diagnosed with B-NHL who were also diagnosed with COVID-19 and hospitalized.
Objective: With the change in drug-resistant pattern, MDR/RR-TB was faced with underlying changes in regimens. A multi-center, large-scale, retrospective study performed aims to provide a recommendation of drug selection on optimization of outcome for the patients.
Method: The study was conducted in six TB-specialized hospitals in China.
Objective: Numerous studies have demonstrated that neutrophil/HDL ratio (NHR), lymphocyte/HDL ratio (LHR), monocyte/HDL (MHR) ratio, platelet/HDL ratio (PHR), neutrophil/ALB ratio (NAR) and platelet/ALB ratio (PAR) can serve as systemic inflammation and oxidative stress markers in a variety of diseases. However, few studies have estimated the associations of these markers with unipolar depression (UD) and bipolar depression (BD), as well as psychotic symptoms in UD and BD.
Methods: 6297 UD patients, 1828 BD patients and 7630 healthy subjects were recruited.
Purpose: Studies of unresectable colorectal cancer pulmonary metastasis (CRPM) have rarely analyzed patient prognosis from the perspective of colonic subsites. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of primary tumor resection (PTR) on the prognosis of patients with unresectable pulmonary metastases of transverse colon cancer pulmonary metastasis (UTCPM), hepatic flexure cancer pulmonary metastasis (UHFPM), and splenic flexure cancer pulmonary metastasis (USFPM).
Methods: Patients were identified from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database between 2000 and 2018.
With the application of bedaquiline (Bdq), the success rate of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment has been significantly improved; however, the cardiac safety of the patients during treatment cannot be ignored. Hence, this study compared the effects of bedaquiline alone and bedaquiline combined with fluoroquinolones (FQs) and/or clofazimine (CFZ) on the QT interval. This single-center retrospective cohort study analyzed the clinical data of MDR-TB patients treated with bedaquiline for 24 weeks from January 2020 to May 2021 in Xi'an Chest Hospital and compared the changes in QTcF between the two groups.

Therefore, high throughput, accurate and low-cost molecular detection techniques are urgently needed. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical application value of MassARRAY in tuberculosis diagnosis and drug resistance screening.

The Delta variant became the main epidemic strain on 11 May 2021. Vaccines were proven highly effective in controlling hospitalization and deaths associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infections.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of MDR-TB patients treated with longer regimen in Xi'an from 2017 to 2019. Risk factors associated with the treatment outcome were analyzed using multiple logistic regression.
Background: The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), system inflammation response index (SIRI), neutrophil/high-density lipoprotein (HDL) ratio (NHR), lymphocyte/HDL ratio (LHR), monocyte/HDL ratio (MHR), and platelet/HDL ratio (PHR) have been recently investigated as new markers for inflammation. The purpose of this research is to use large-scale clinical data to discuss and compare the predictive ability of the SII, SIRI, NHR, LHR, MHR, and PHR in patients with schizophrenia (SCZ) and bipolar disorder (BD), to investigate potential biomarkers.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective, naturalistic, cross-sectional study, we collected the hematological parameter data of 13,329 patients with SCZ, 4,061 patients with BD manic episodes (BD-M), and 1,944 patients with BD depressive episodes (BD-D), and 5,810 healthy subjects served as the healthy control (HC) group.
Background: Inflammation and oxidative stress are the major leading hypothetical causes of schizophrenia. Unconjugated bilirubin (UCB) is an efficient endogenous plasma antioxidant. Inflammation is closely linked to oxidative stress.

The neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and monocyte/lymphocyte ratio (MLR) have been recently investigated as simple, rapid, and inexpensive inflammation markers. The purpose of the research is to use large-scale clinical data to study the difference of the inflammation ratios in first-episode MDD, recurrent MDD, BD depressive episodes and manic episode.

Platelet-associated haematological parameters including mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), plateletcrit (PCT), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), platelet to albumin ratio (PAR) and red blood cell distribution width (RDW) to platelet ratio (RPR), have been recently investigated as simple, easily available, and inexpensive inflammatory markers. In this study, we aimed is to use large-scale clinical data to study platelet parameters in patients with affective disorders, to further investigate the predictive power of platelet parameters for major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar disorder (BD).

Introduction: Although the Invisalign system has been used widely in recent years, the influences of this treatment on the oral microbiome and whether or not this influence is different from that of fixed appliances is still unknown. In this study, we investigated the changes in the oral microbiome in patients treated with the Invisalign system or with fixed appliances.
Methods: Fifteen subjects were enrolled, comprising 5 fixed appliance patients, 5 Invisalign patient, and 5 healthy controls.
The present study examined the influence of different post materials and their lengths on the mechanical stress of endodontically treated incisor roots in two alveolar bone conditions. Two-dimensional photoelastic models were fabricated to simulate the endodontically treated maxillary central incisors restored with three kinds of posts materials (low Young's modulus glass fiber post, high Young's modulus glass fiber post, and prefabricated stainless steel post) and two post lengths (8 and 4 mm). Completed models were placed in a transmission polariscope and loaded with a static force of 150 N at 45° to the tooth axis.

Method: BCG and LPS were adopted to establish BCG plus LPS liver injury model in mice. The content of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and NO, the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondiadehyde (MDA) content of liver homogenate in mice were measured by colorimetric method.
