[Wangbi Tablets reduce inflammation in rat model of collagen-induced arthritis with syndrome of kidney deficiency by regulating cGAS-STING signaling pathway].

This study aims to investigate the therapeutic effect of Wangbi Tablets(WBT) on the inflammation in the rat model of collagen-induced arthritis(CIA) with the syndrome of kidney deficiency based on the cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate synthase(cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes(STING) signaling pathway. Eighteen rats were randomly chosen from 24 SPF-grade rats for the modeling of CIA with the syndrome of kidney deficiency. The 24 SPF-grade rats were randomized into 4 groups: control(normal rats), model(CIA with syndrome of kidney deficiency), model+WBT(M+WBT), and model+methotrexate(M+MTX).

Pd-Catalyzed Migratory 1,1-Cycloannulation Reaction of Alkenes.

Here, we report a novel strategy for the preparation of diverse heterocycles via a Pd-catalyzed migratory 1,1-cycloannulation reaction (MCAR) of alkenes. Starting from readily available alkenyl amines and alkenyl alcohols, this approach allows the formation of a wide range of five- to seven-membered azaheterocycles and oxaheterocycles with high efficiency and good functional group tolerance. The key to the realization of this reaction is the use of 4-iodophenol or 2-iodophenol derivatives where the phenolic hydroxyl group plays a critical role in controlling the direction of migration and the ring-size of the heterocycles through the formation of a quinone methide intermediate.

Noninvasive Left Ventricular Pressure-Strain Loop for Quantitative Assessment of Early Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease.

Background: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) possess a pronounced risk for cardiovascular events. A noninvasive left ventricular pressure-strain loop (LV-PSL) has recently been introduced to detect subtler changes in cardiac function. This study aims to investigate the value of LV-PSL for quantitative assessment of myocardial work (MW) in patients with CKD.

Efficacy and safety of the modified Zhiwang decoction combined with methotrexate in early rheumatoid arthritis: study protocol for a randomised controlled trial.

Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a progressive inflammatory autoimmune disease characterised by chronic systemic inflammation, which can cause swelling, stiffening and destruction of articular cartilage and bone. Early diagnosis and treatment of RA can improve outcomes and slow the progression of joint damage. Preliminary exploratory research had hinted an expected effect of modified Zhiwang decoction (MZWD) in treating early RA.

Eosinophilic fasciitis difficult to differentiate from scleroderma: A case report.

Background: Eosinophilic fasciitis (EF) is a rare connective tissue disease that can cause swelling and sclerosis of the extremities, and special attention is needed to differentiate EF from systemic sclerosis. Misdiagnosis or omission markedly delays treatment of EF, and severe skin sclerosis in advanced stages can cause joint contracture and tendon retraction, worsening the patient's prognosis and quality of life.

Case Summary: We report a case of EF in a young woman diagnosed by tissue biopsy, confirming the difficulty of differential diagnosis with scleroderma.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, progressive inflammatory and systemic autoimmune disease resulting in severe joint destruction, lifelong suffering and considerable disability. Diverse prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) containing (EH) achieve greatly curative effects against RA. The present review aims to systemically summarize the therapeutic effect, pharmacological mechanism, bioavailability and safety assessment of EH to provide a novel insight for subsequent studies.

Leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) is a known regulator of autophagy in a range of cell types. Here, we investigated the role of LRRK2-associated autophagy during acute kidney injury (AKI) and its underlying mechanism(s) of action. Male mice aged 8-weeks were treated with the LRRK2 inhibitor MLi-2 and exposed to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) through intraperitoneal injection or ischemia-reperfusion (IR) surgery.

[Effects of exogenous methylglyoxal on chesnut seedlings under drought stress].

Methylglyoxal (MG) is a novel signaling molecule with multiple functions in plants. To explore the effects of MG on Chinese chestnut () under drought stress, two-year-old 'Huangpeng' chestnut seedlings were treated with 15% polyethylene glycol (PEG) coupled with MG or its scavenger N-acetyl-L-cys-teine (NAC). The aim of this study was to assess the effect of preoperative sleep quality on acute postoperative pain in breast cancer patients.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire (PSQI) was used to assess the overall sleep status of women scheduled for unilateral modified radical mastectomy in the past month. Based on the responses, patients were allocated to good sleep group or poor sleep group.

Shengfu oil is a traditional Chinese medicine formula containing 16 ingredients, including Scutellariae radix, Olibanum, and Rehmanniae radix. In this study, we aimed to enhance the wound healing of rabbit full-thickness scalded skin by Shengfu oil and to elucidate its regulatory effects on β-catenin, Dlk1, and COX-2. We found that Shengfu oil exhibited significant anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antimicrobial activities.

Nanobubbles as ultrasound contrast agent for facilitating small cell lung cancer imaging.

Background: This study is to investigate whether liposome-loaded nanobubbles (NBs) have the potentials to carry anti-pro-gastrin releasing peptide (proGRP) antibody and enhance ultrasound imaging of small cell lung cancer (SCLC).

Methods: NBs were loaded with an antibody against SCLC (H446 cell line). A nude mouse model of SCLC tumor was established by a subcutaneous injection of tumor cell suspension in the dorsal skin.

Clinical Efficacy and Safety of Bathing with Chinese Medicine Taohong Siwu Decoction () for Treatment of Diffuse Cutaneous Systemic Sclerosis: A Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial.

Objective: To examine the efficacy and safety of bathing therapy with Taohong Siwu Decoction (, TSD) in the treatment of early-stage, mild-moderate diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis (dcSSc).

Methods: This randomized, placebo-controlled trial enrolled 148 men and women (18-60 years) with dcSSc (disease duration 12 months) and baseline modified Rodnan skin score (MRSS) 10. Patients were randomized into a TSD group (71 cases bathing with TSD plus oral prednisone) or control group (71 cases bathing with placebo plus oral prednisone).
