Background: Primary hepatic lymphoma (PHL) is a lymphoproliferative disorder confined to the liver without peripheral lymph node involvement and bone marrow invasion. PHL is extremely rare in clinical practice. The etiology and pathogenesis of PHL are largely unknown.

[Community characteristics and functions of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria in rhizosphere soil of natural and planted forests on the Loess Plateau, Northwest China].

To investigate the interaction between and root microorganisms and its effects on the stability of forests, we collected rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soil from natural and planted forests in Huanglong County of Shaanxi Province. The non-rhizosphere soil was used to analyze chemical properties, while the rhizosphere soil was used to isolate and purify phosphorus-solubilizing (organic and inorganic phosphorus) bacteria. We mea-sured the phosphate-solubilizing ability and identified those bacteria using DNA genes sequencing.

A compact high-power microwave TM-TE mode converter.

In circular waveguides, the TE mode has the lowest transmission loss, which is very suitable for long-distance transmission of high-power microwaves (HPMs). The output mode of HPM sources is mainly the TM mode; however, there are few research studies on mode converters of TM-TE. In this paper, a high efficiency HPM TM-TE mode converter is designed; compared with the traditional TM-TE mode converters, the structure of the mode converter is compact and easier to process.

A review on the industrial solid waste application in pelletizing additives: Composition, mechanism and process characteristics.

Reducing the cost of pellet additives as a substitute for reducing bentonite binder is an important research direction of new pellet additives. There are some industrial solid wastes that have the similar physical and chemical properties to bentonite, and SiO content of them may be much lower than bentonite, but also contains a lot of FeO, AlO, MgO, BO and other components beneficial to the quality of pellets, which have been paid more attention by many pellet workers. In this review, the effect mechanism of FeO, NaO/KO, AlO, SiO, CaO, MgO and BO in the industrial solid wastes on the fired strength and reduction expansion of pellets were systematically summarized.

A double-layer wideband radial-line waveguide power divider/combiner for high-power microwave application.

A compact double-layer wideband 1:60 power divider/combiner based on a radial-line waveguide is designed and investigated for high-power microwave (HPM) applications. Compared with other HPM radial-line power dividers, the proposed power divider is smaller and more compact. The power divider is miniaturized by the double-layer method, and the wideband characteristic is realized by a specially designed wavy disk.

(Caprifoliaceae), which inhabits in China and Japan, is commonly cultivated as an ornamental shrub. The complete chloroplast genome of was newly assembled in this study based on Illumina pair-end sequencing data. The full length of plastome is 155,813 bp.

The Fabrication and Characterization of Ni/4H-SiC Schottky Diode Radiation Detectors with a Sensitive Area of up to 4 cm².

Silicon carbide (SiC) detectors of an Ni/4H-SiC Schottky diode structure and with sensitive areas of 1-4 cm² were fabricated using high-quality lightly doped epitaxial 4H-SiC material, and were tested in the detection of alpha particles and pulsed X-rays/UV-light. [Identification and phylogenetic analysis of endophytic fungi isolated from Scrophularia ningpoensis].

The endophytic fungi from root, main stem, branch and leaf of Scrophularia ningpoensis were isolated and identified from Wulong and Chongqing, and the population diversity analysis and phylogenetic analysis were followed. The result indicated that, as to population diversity index, S. ningpoensis from Wulong： leaf>main stem=branch>root, branch from Chongqing>branch from Wulong.

Expanded CURB-65: a new score system predicts severity of community-acquired pneumonia with superior efficiency.

Aim of this study was to develop a new simpler and more effective severity score for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) patients. A total of 1640 consecutive hospitalized CAP patients in Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University were included. The effectiveness of different pneumonia severity scores to predict mortality was compared, and the performance of the new score was validated on an external cohort of 1164 patients with pneumonia admitted to a teaching hospital in Italy.

Optimization of Microwave-Assisted Extraction Conditions for Five Major Bioactive Compounds from Flos Sophorae Immaturus (Cultivars of Sophora japonica L.) Using Response Surface Methodology.

The intercellular movement of plant viruses requires both viral and host proteins. Previous studies have demonstrated that the frame-shift protein P3N-PIPO (for the protein encoded by the open reading frame [ORF] containing 5'-terminus of P3 and a +2 frame-shift ORF called Pretty Interesting Potyviridae ORF and embedded in the P3) and CYLINDRICAL INCLUSION (CI) proteins were required for potyvirus cell-to-cell movement. Here, we provide genetic evidence showing that a Tobacco vein banding mosaic virus (TVBMV; genus Potyvirus) mutant carrying a truncated PIPO domain of 58 amino acid residues could move between cells and induce systemic infection in Nicotiana benthamiana plants; mutants carrying a PIPO domain of seven, 20, or 43 amino acid residues failed to move between cells and cause systemic infection in this host plant.

[Estimating leaf area index of black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) plantations based on texture parameters of quickbird imagery].

The black locust plantations located in Weibei area were chosen as research objects and the texture parameters of different window sizes from high resolution imagery were measured. Four different techniques, including simple linear regression model, quadratic regression model, power model and exponential model, were developed to describe the relationship between the texture parameters and field measurements of LAI and to select the most effective texture parameters and window size. The results showed that the texture parameters influenced the accuracy of LAI estimation.

[Quantitative determination of 5 active ingredients in different harvest periods of Ligusticum chuanxiong by HPLC].

A simple and quick method is described for the determination of ferulic acid, senkyunolide I, senkyunolide H, senkyunolide A and ligustilide in rhizomes of Ligusticum chuanxiong. The 5 active ingredients in the sample was extracted using 40% ethanol and analyzed by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Chromatography separation was performed using Agilent 1100 series HPLC system with a Symmetry C18 column and gradient elution with a mixture of three solvents : solvent A, acetonitrile, solvent B, methanol and solvent C, 1% aqueous acetic acid, 0 min to 5 min A: B: C 20: 40: 40, 5 min to 30 min A: B: C 60 to 100 : 0 : 40 to 0.

Nanoscale metal-organic frameworks as highly sensitive luminescent sensors for Fe²⁺ in aqueous solution and living cells.

We report the exploration of fluorescent nanoscale metal-organic frameworks (nMOF-253s) for highly selective and sensitive detection of Fe(2+) ions in aqueous solution. Moreover, nMOF-253 of 50 nm is successfully applied in fluorescent bioimaging and intracellular Fe(2+) sensing in HeLa cells.

A long-pulse repetitive operation magnetically insulated transmission line oscillator.

The improved magnetically insulated transmission line oscillator (MILO) is a gigawatt-class L-band high power microwave tube. It has allowed us to generate 3.1 GW pulse of 40 ns duration in the single-pulse operation and 500 MW pulse of 25 ns duration in the repetition rate operation.

Inner surface flash-over of insulator of low-inductance high-voltage self-breakdown gas switch and its application.

In this paper, the inner surface flash-over of high-voltage self-breakdown switch, which is used as a main switch of pulse modulator, is analyzed in theory by employing the method of distributed element equivalent circuit. Moreover, the field distortion of the switch is simulated by using software. The results of theoretical analysis and simulation by software show that the inner surface flash-over usually starts at the junction points among the stainless steel, insulator, and insulation gas in the switch.

[Modified prepuce-degloving repair for urethrocutaneous fistula following hypospadias surgery].

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect and application value of the modified method of prepuce-degloving repair (PDR) in the treatment of urethrocutaneous fistula (UCF) following hypospadias surgery.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 87 cases of UCF caused by hypospadias repair from May 2001 to December 2011, of which 61 were treated by simple closure or Y-V plasty of the fistula (group A), and the other 26 by modified PDR (group B). We compared the success rate of surgery and long-term recurrence between the two groups.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Efficient Bioflocculant-Producing Bacterium Paenibacillus sp. Strain A9.

Paenibacillus sp. strain A9 is an important bioflocculant-producing bacterium, isolated from a soil sample, and is pale pink-pigmented, aerobic, and Gram-positive. Here, we report the draft genome sequence and the initial findings from a preliminary analysis of strain A9, which is a novel species of Paenibacillus.
