Pairwise Biological Network Alignment Based on Discrete Bat Algorithm.

The development of high-throughput technology has provided a reliable technical guarantee for an increased amount of available data on biological networks. Network alignment is used to analyze these data to identify conserved functional network modules and understand evolutionary relationships across species. Thus, an efficient computational network aligner is needed for network alignment.

Effect of parathyroid hormone-related protein on intracellular calcium ion and cyclic adenosine monophosphate concentrations in cardiac fibroblasts.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) on proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) in primary cultures of neonatal Wistar rats.

Methods: Different PTHrP concentrations were added to CFs of neonatal Wistar rats and the cells were grouped according to the concentrations added. A verapamil (VPL) group and a calcitriol (CAL) group were also established.

Methods: COPD model was induced by intratracheal instillation of Klebsiella pneumonia and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) for 12 weeks in rats, and COPD rats were treated with Spearmint oil for 3 weeks. After COPD was induced, the pathological changes, changes in leucocyte number in blood and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), MDA in lung homogenate and Nrf2 expression were observed.
