Relationship between patients in hospital affects recovery from total knee arthroplasty (TKA)-A prospective study.

Background: The interaction between patients is rather important source of information about surgery and recovery. Patients always prefer particularly to compare themselves with others of relatively similar ability, opinion and situation. Exploration of patients' dyads, however, is rare and needs further elaboration as to the significance of fellow patients.

Pathology comparative study on the characteristic CT signs in solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas.

In order to analyze characteristic CT signs in the solid pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas, a retrospective analysis was conducted on 49 patients with pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas who where treated in Liaoning Cancer Hospital. All of the patients were confirmed by pathology, CT signs were analyzed and a pathology contrast was conducted. Furthermore, all cases had single lesions; 7 cases in the pancreatic head, 23 cases in the pancreatic body, 15 cases in the pancreatic body-tail and 4 cases in the pancreatic tail.

Laparoscopy and laparoscopic ultrasonography in judging the resectability of pancreatic head cancer.

Objective: To explore the clinical value of laparoscopy and laparoscopic ultrasonography (LUS) in judging the resectability of pancreatic head cancer.

Methods: LUS was employed as a prospective diagnosis of tumor staging before exploratory laparotomy in 22 patients diagnosed with pancreatic head cancer to identify whether the liver and peritoneum had small metastases or local invasion to the portal vein, superior mesenteric vessel, aorta, inferior vena cava.

Results: In the 22 patients receiving laparoscopy and LUS, we found peritoneal or surface liver metastases (3 patients), hepatic parenchyma metastases (1), and pancreatitis proved by biopsy under ultrasound guidance (1).
