Objectives: Vitamin A plays an important role in health, especially regarding its impact on bone tissue. Vitamin A can lead to bone damage and deformity, thus becoming an important causative factor in osteoarthritis. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the association of serum vitamin A with osteoarthritis.

Herein, Mo-doped CoP nanoparticles embedded bamboo-like nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube-modified hollow nanocages are prepared using Mo-ZIF-8@ZIF-67 as a self-sacrificing template. The hollow nanostructures modified by carbon nanotubes provide a large specific surface area and abundant active sites.

In our previous research, we found that spermine-based poly(β-amino ester)s are very promising for siRNA delivery.

Wildfire studies have revealed that different types of black carbon (char and soot) are formed due to changes in combustion efficiency. In this study, we obtained black carbon and its two subtypes, char and soot, from a typical Holocene aeolian loess-paleosol section in the Chilanqiao Ruins within the Guanzhong Basin, southern Loess Plateau, China.

Purpose: Postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT) in patients with TN breast cancer is still controversial. This study was to evaluate the survival prognosis of TN patients with or without PMRT.
Patients And Methods: From January 2006 to May 2017, 2606 female breast cancer patients underwent mastectomy in our medical center, among whom 402 patients of TN stage with or without PMRT were finally analyzed.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Gardenia jasminoides Ellis is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been used for treatment of various diseases, including atherosclerosis by clearing heat and detoxication. Geniposide is considered as the effective compounds responsible for the therapeutic efficacy of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis against atherosclerosis.
Aim Of The Study: To investigate the effect of geniposide on atherosclerosis burden and plaque macrophage polarization, with focus on its potential impact on CXCL14 expression by perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT).
Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have made a breakthrough in the systemic treatment of patients with advanced tumors. However, little is known about their efficacy and safety in adjuvant settings after the resection of solid tumors.
Methods: We performed a meta-analysis on the efficacy and safety of programmed death 1 (PD1)/PD-1 ligand (PDL1) inhibitors in adjuvant therapy after tumor resection using Review Manager 5.
Rationale: Ephedrine analogues are stimulants that are explicitly required to be quantified and characterized in the Anti-Doping Prohibited List of the World Anti-Doping Agency. Given the difficulty of distinguishing diastereoisomers, the qualitative and quantitative analyses of ephedrine diastereoisomers are difficult.
Methods: An ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC/MS/MS) method was developed to detect five ephedrine analogues, and two pairs of diastereoisomers were identified using this method.
Background: Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) levels and blood tumor mutation burden (bTMB) have a significant impact on the prognosis of tumor patients. However, their prognostic role in immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in cancer patients is still unclear.
Methods: We used the Review Manager software (version 5.
Objective: The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to determine the prognostic value of memory CD8(+) T cells in cancer patients with immunotherapy.
Methods: EMBASE, MEDLINE (PubMed), and Web of Science databases were searched to identify suitabile articles published before March 2021. Risk of bias on the study level was assessed using the Cochrane Bias Risk Assessment Tool.
Objectives: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) combined with radiotherapy (RT) have emerged as a breakthrough therapy in the treatment of various cancers. The combination has a strong rationale, but data on their efficacy and safety are still limited. Hence, we comprehensively searched the database and performed this study to elucidate the clinical manifestations of this combined strategy.

However, the regulatory mechanism of TGF-β in inducing EMT in colorectal cancer (CRC) has not been fully elucidated. In previous studies, it was found that S100A8 may regulate EMT.

Reliable and automated segmentation of the prostate gland in MRI data is exceptionally critical for diagnosis and treatment planning of prostate cancer. Although many automated segmentation methods have emerged, including deep learning based approaches, segmentation performance is still poor due to the large variability of image appearance, anisotropic spatial resolution, and imaging interference.

Proteasomal and antioxidant activities play important roles in tumor drug resistance, and increasing evidence suggests the existence of an interaction between antioxidant and proteasomal activities. However, the mechanism of the synergistic effects of proteasomal activity and antioxidation on tumor drug resistance is not completely clear.

Unsatisfactorily, curative effects of approved anti-AD drugs were not good enough due to their actions on single-target, which led to desperate requirements for more effective drug therapies involved in multiple pathomechanisms of AD. The anti-AD effect with multiple action targets of Kai-Xin-San (KXS), a classic prescription initially recorded in and applied in the treatment of dementia for thousands of years, was deciphered with modern biological methods in our study.

Soy sauce inoculated with yeasts (YG) or a mixture of yeasts and bacteria (MYG) were used in the present research. The results suggested that the effect of HSP resulted in decreasing of fungal community diversity, while CTF caused changes of the evenness of fungi species, which were also confirmed by alpha/beta diversity and clustering analysis.

The present study investigated the effect of two types of fortified pattern, including inoculation with starters (Tetragenococcus halophilus combined with Zygosaccharomyces rouxii and Candida versatilis), and adding culture medium (saccharified rice flour solution), on the metabolite profiles and microbial community of soy sauce produced from defatted soybean (DP) and whole soybean (HD). Relationships between microbes and volatiles, and their interactions, were shown.
