Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the MRI characteristics of acute pancreatitis (AP) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) compared to those without diabetes.
  • Out of 262 patients analyzed, 53 were found to have T2DM-related AP, showing a higher prevalence of severe conditions like necrotizing pancreatitis, hemorrhage, and organ failure on MRI.
  • The results indicate that T2DM-related AP is generally more serious, showing greater severity and a longer hospital stay compared to nondiabetic cases.
