Given the notoriously poor wear performance of Ti6Al4V (TC4) alloys, two types of MgAl layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were synthesized as lubrication additives. Systematic tribological tests were conducted to explore the performance of the TC4 alloy with these MgAl LDHs at varying concentrations in oil. It was found that, with increasing additive concentration, the wear resistance of TC4 significantly improved.

Fog collection serves as an efficient method to alleviate water scarcity in foggy, water-stressed regions. Recent research has focused on constructing a hybrid surface to enhance fog collection efficiency, with one approach being the prevention of liquid film formation at hydrophilic sites. Inspired by the desert beetle, a coating (10-MCC) made by partially acylating microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) exhibits hydrophilic sites alongside a hydrophobic skeleton enabling rapid droplet capture despite its overall hydrophobicity.

Methods: We recruited 60 PSD patients and randomly allocated them to the intervention ( = 30) and control ( = 30) groups. The former received the smart health-based rehabilitation for 12 weeks, whereas the latter received routine rehabilitation.

Calcium phosphate glass ceramics (CPGs) and hydroxyapatite (HA) were chosen for the study. It was found that KrF excimer laser can cut both CPGs and HA with high efficiency and precision.
