CCDC88C gene, which encodes coiled-coil domain containing 88C, is essential for cell communication during neural development. Variants in the CCDC88C caused congenital hydrocephalus, some accompanied by seizures. In patients with epilepsy without acquired etiologies, we performed whole-exome sequencing (trio-based).

Forty-one metal elements, including rare earth elements and the lead isotope ratio in rain water in Xiamen were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Sources of metal elements were identified by combined enrichment factor, isotope analysis, and positive matrix factorization analysis. The results showed that the concentration sequence of total metal elements in rainwater in Xiamen was winter-suburban (213.

Since NH is a significant precursor to ammonium in PM and contributes significantly to atmospheric nitrogen deposition but largely remains unregulated in China, the insight into the source of NH emissions by the isotopic investigation is important in controlling NH emissions. In this study, atmospheric concentrations of NH and water-soluble ion composition in PM as well as nitrogen isotope ratios in NH (δN-NH) in Xiamen, China, were measured. Results showed that average NH concentration for the five sites in Xiamen was 7.

The chemical compositions and size distribution characteristics of aerosol particles were obtained, and the sources and ion spectra were analyzed. The results showed that particle number concentration decreased with the distance apart from the coastal area.

However, to design a SERS-based biosensor, almost all currently used methods involve the time-consuming and complicated modification of the metallic nanoparticles with the Raman active dye and biorecognition element, which restricts their widespread applications. Herein, we report a label-free, homogeneous and easy-to-operate biosensing platform for the rapid, simple and sensitive SERS detection by using the unmodified gold nanoparticles (Au NPs).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel exonuclease III (Exo III) protection-based colorimetric biosensing strategy was developed for rapid, sensitive, and visual detection of sequence-specific DNA-binding proteins. This strategy relied on the protection of DNA-cross-linked gold nanoparticle (AuNP) aggregates from Exo III-mediated digestion by specific interactions of target proteins with their binding sequences. Interestingly, we disclosed a new finding that binding of target proteins to their binding sequences in the aggregated AuNP network rendered a stable and long-period protection of DNA.
