Background: Despite sharing common pathophysiological risk factors, the relationship between gallstones and depression requires further evidence for a clearer understanding. This study combines the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2017 - 2020 observational data and Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to shed light on the potential correlation between these conditions.
Methods: By analyzing the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2017 - 2020 data through weighted multivariable-adjusted logistic regression, we examined the association between depression and gallstone risk.

In this study, a facile fluorescence-scattering ratiometric sensor was designed for visual and selective detection of levodopa (LD) via a clever physicochemical modulation scheme. The alkalized products of LD can rapidly react with polyethyleneimine (PEI) to exhibit an intense blue fluorescence and decrease the second-order scattering (SOS) signal of PEI. As the concentration of LD increased, the fluorescence intensity at 420 nm increased and the SOS intensity at 675 nm decreased synchronously.

Porcine immature oocytes were treated with different concentrations of sorbitol during IVM, and the resultant metaphase II stage oocytes were activated and cultured in porcine zygote medium-3 (PZM-3) for 7 days. No significant difference was observed in cumulus expansion and the nuclear maturation between the control and sorbitol-treated groups, with the exception of the 100 mM group, which showed significantly decreased nuclear maturation and cumulus expansion.
