Colonoscopic Removal of an Intrauterine Device That Had Perforated the Rectosigmoid Colon.

The intrauterine device (IUD) is a widely used contraceptive method. One of the most serious and rare complications of using an IUD is colon perforation. We report a case of colonoscopic removal of an IUD that had perforated into the rectosigmoid colon in a 42-year-old woman who presented with no symptoms.

Single immunochemical fecal occult blood test for detection of colorectal neoplasia.

Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the validity of a single immunochemical fecal occult blood test (FOBT) for detection of colorectal neoplasia.

Materials And Methods: A total of 3,794 average-risk screenees and 304 colorectal cancer patients admitted to the National Cancer Center, Korea, between May 2001 and November 2002, were studied prospectively. All screenees and admitted patients underwent FOBT and total colonoscopic examinations.

Granular cell tumor of colon: report of a case and review of literature.
