Background: Parotid gland carcinoma (PGC) is a rare malignant tumor. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of immune-inflammatory-nutrition indicators and age-adjusted Charlson comorbidity index score (ACCI) of PGC and develop the nomogram model for predicting prognosis.
Method: All patients diagnosed with PGC in two tertiary hospitals, treated with surgical resection, from March 2012 to June 2018 were obtained.
Background: Oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC) is the most common pathological type in oral tumors. This study intends to construct a novel prognostic nomogram model based on China populations for these resectable OCSCC patients, and then validate these nomograms.
Methods: A total of 607 postoperative patients with OCSCC diagnosed between June 2012 and June 2018 were obtained from two tertiary medical institutions in Xinxiang and Zhengzhou.
Background: Lip squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) was one of the most common cancer types of head and neck tumors. This study aimed to find more predictors of the prognosis in postoperative LSCC patients.
Methods: A total of 147 LSCC patients between June 2012 and June 2018 were collected from two tertiary care institutions.

Methods: The cellular localization and expression level of IFITM3 in the hippocampus were detected. The IFITM3 overexpression was achieved using an intracranial stereotactic system to inject an adeno-associated virus into the hippocampal CA1 region of mice.

Background: Lymph node metastasis (LNM) is a critical prognostic factor in resectable pancreatic cancer (PC) patients, determining treatment strategies. This study aimed to develop a clinical model to adequately and accurately predict the risk of LNM in PC patients.
Methods: 13,200 resectable PC patients were enrolled from the SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) database, and randomly divided into a training group and an internal validation group at a ratio of 7:3.
Background: Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is one of the most fatal gynecological malignancies among elderly patients. We aim to construct two nomograms to predict the overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) in elderly EOC patients.
Methods: Elderly patients with EOC between 2000 and 2019 were selected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.

Background: Ultrafiltration plays an indispensable role in relieving congestion and fluid retention in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) in recent years. So far, there is no consistent agreement about whether early ultrafiltration (UF) is a first-line treatment for patients with ADHF. We, therefore, conducted a meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of UF.

This study aimed to explore whether Recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) has protective effects against sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) in a mouse model. The results showed that 50 μg/kg of rhBNP significantly improved the 14-day survival of cecal ligation and puncture (CLP)-induced septic mice and mitigated cognitive dysfunction and anxiety.

Chinese Trauma Surgeon Association organized a committee composed of 28 experts across China in July 2017, aiming to provide an evidence-based recommendation for the application of VSD in abdominal surgeries.

TTC solution staining was used to measure myocardial infarction size. A commercial kit was used to measure lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), creatinine kinase‑MB (CK‑MB), tumor necrosis factor‑α (TNF‑α), interleukin‑1β (IL‑1β), IL 6, superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA) and catalase levels.

Methods: A mouse model of blast injury-induced ALI was established using a self-made explosive device. Thirty mice were randomly assigned to control, ALI and ALI + COS groups.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore the expression level of autophagy-related proteins in epileptic patients with glioneuronal tumors (GNTs) and evaluate the association with clinicopathological features.
Materials And Methods: We obtained the brain specimens from 33 patients with GNTs, including 22 gangliogliomas (GGs) and 11 dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors (DNTs). The expression of two autophagy-related proteins (LC3B and Beclin-1) was evaluated by immunohistochemistry, and BRAF V600E mutation was examined by DNA sequencing.
To explore the protective effect of dexmedetomidine (Dex) on rats with renal ischemia-reperfusion injury and the influence of Dex on the expression of tight junction protein in kidney. Grouped 40 SPF male rats into 4 groups, sham operation group (group S), ischemia-reperfusion group (group I/R), pretreatment with Dex group (group Pre/Dex), post-treatment with Dex group (group Post/Dex), randomly, 10 rats each group. Rats in group S were anaesthetized and set up with removal of right kidney; rats in group I/R were set up with removal of right kidney and left renal artery clamping for 45 min followed by 60 min reperfusion; rats in group Pre/Dex were intravenous injected with Dex (1 μg/kg) for 30 min after indwelling catheter via femoral vein puncture; rats in group Post/Dex were intravenous injected with Dex (1 μg/kg) for 30 min after left renal reperfusion.

The strong binding affinity and potential enantioselectivity of chiral [Ru(bpy)2 (L)](2+) (L=dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine, dppz-10,11-imidazolone; bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) prompted this investigation as to whether the two enantiomers, Δ and Λ, can show different effects on diverse structures with a range of parallel, antiparallel and mixed parallel/antiparallel G-quadruplexes. These studies provide a striking example of chiral-selective recognition of DNA G-quadruplexes.

But its contribution and mechanism of action in invasion and metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are not very clear. Therefore, we tried to study the effects of BDMC on regulation of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which is closely linked to tumor cell invasion and metastasis.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the protective effect of recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) on endotoxin-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) in canine model of septic shock and its potential mechanisms. Dogs with endotoxin-induced septic shock were subjected to intravenous infusion of saline solution or rhBNP at the concentrations of 5 μg/kg (low-dose intervention group) or 10 μg/kg (high-dose intervention group). At 0, 2, 4, 8, and 12 h, the systemic vascular resistance index (SVRI) as well as serum levels of high mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB-1) and creatinine were measured, and kidney tissue samples were taken for histological examination.

However, recent studies have demonstrated that the recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) has anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, we found that rhBNP could prevent lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury in a dog model.
