Nickel allergy does not correlate with function after total knee arthroplasty.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a relationship between clinical outcomes and nickel allergy by evaluating asymptomatic total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients with well-functioning implants through quantitative metal allergy (MA) testing.

Methods: A prospective case series was performed on 50 patients with well-functioning TKA of various implant types. Inclusion criteria included primary TKA with a minimum 12-month follow-up and Oxford knee score (OKS) ≥ 40.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of seasonality and climate change on the rate of PJI.

Beirut massive blast explosion: A unique injury pattern of the wounded population.

Introduction: On August 4, 2020, a massive explosion of a warehouse holding 2,700 metric tons of ammonium nitrate took place in the port of Beirut, Lebanon. This incident, which is considered as one of the largest industrial disasters lead to the death of at least 220 people and more than 6000 injuries. Hospitals near the blast were damaged significantly which made it difficult to treat injured patients.

Purpose: Many etiologies are known to lead to a tarsal tunnel syndrome (TTS). One rare cause is mass-occupying lesions, and particularly accessory or variant muscles (AVM). This study aimed to systematically collect published clinical cases of TTS caused by AVM.

Osteoid Osteoma of the Distal Phalanx: A Rare Condition.

Osteoid osteoma of the distal phalanges in the hand is rare and difficult to diagnose. We report a case of a 37-year-old Caucasian female patient who presented with a mass on the distal phalanx of the index finger. The patient was suffering from intermittent nocturnal pain for more than 18 months along with thickening, localized swelling, and clubbing of the distal phalanx of the right index finger.

Purpose: The use of three-dimensional printing models in medical practice has been booming recently and its application to orthopedic surgery is gaining popularity. When treating fractures by open reduction and internal fixation, potential benefits have been associated with the use of 3D printing models. This review aims to quantitatively analyze the effectiveness of using 3D printing models in fracture management.

Nerve transfers in the upper extremity: A review.
