Background: Left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) needs confirmation of left conduction system capture assessed by testing of different electrical parameters. Guidelines recommend the use of an electrophysiology recording system (EP-RS) to guide conduction system pacing procedures. However, some experienced centers perform LBBAP procedures without an EP-RS.

Diagnosis of this condition is achieved through Doppler ultrasound assessment of the difference between the MoM of the peak systolic velocity of the middle cerebral artery between the twins, establishing the diagnosis with a delta value >0.5 MoM.

Background: Cesarean sections are the most common abdominal surgical interventions worldwide, with increasing rates in both developed and developing countries. Postpartum (hemorrhage PPH) during cesarean sections can lead to maternal morbidity, prolonged hospital stays, and increased mortality rates. Although various non-surgical measures have been recommended for PPH prevention, surgical techniques such as uterine artery ligation and embolization have been used to manage PPH effectively.

Purpose: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) account for recurrence and resistance to breast cancer drugs, rendering them a cause of mortality and therapeutic failure. In this study, we examined the effects of exposure to low concentrations of doxorubicin (Dox) on CSCs and non-CSCs from TNBC.
Methods: The effects of Dox were studied using the SORE6 reporter system.
Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a significant postoperative complication associated with increased mortality and hospital costs. Hemodynamic strategies, such as goal-directed therapy, might reduce AKI risk. Predicting and proactively managing intraoperative hypotension may be helpful.

Background: Lung cancer represents a significant global health concern, often diagnosed in its advanced stages. The advent of massive DNA sequencing has revolutionized the landscape of cancer treatment by enabling the identification of target mutations and the development of tailored therapeutic approaches. Unfortunately, access to DNA sequencing technology remains limited in many developing countries.

However, the regulatory mechanism(s) controlling fatty acid unsaturation in thylakoid lipids is poorly understood. Here, we have investigated the connection between chloroplast redox homeostasis and lipid metabolism by focusing on 2-Cys peroxiredoxins (Prxs), which play a central role in balancing the redox state within the organelle.

TSL detection is usually based on the complexation between fluorescent organic compounds (the analytes) and terbium. The organic compound is then excited, and, after an energy transfer towards terbium, the latter emits the luminescence signal.

This study aims to characterize the cellular changes, composition, and patterns of the protein mobilization and ROS-dependent gene expression of redox metabolism in L. (narrow-leafed lupin, NLL) cotyledons during seed germination.

Gender dysphoria is the diagnosis included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, published by the American Psychiatric Association, which refers to the marked incongruence that exists between the gender that is felt or expressed and the one assigned at birth. The discomfort generated by the incongruity can cause gender affirmation to be requested through hormonal treatment or surgical sex reassignment, which is expected to disappear such discomfort. However, not all people with gender incongruence manifest discomfort and when the discomfort exists it is not always of psychopathological characteristics (dysphoria), which for some authors represents gender affirmation for aesthetic purposes (correct the incongruity).

Nevertheless, LMHPs show the formation of iodide-rich (I-rich) phase under illumination, which destabilizes the semiconductor bandgap and impedes their exploitation. Here, it is shown that how I , photogenerated upon charge carrier trapping at iodine interstitials in LMHPs, can promote the formation of I-rich phase.

This paper analyses the centralized fusion linear estimation problem in multi-sensor systems with multiple packet dropouts and correlated noises. Packet dropouts are modeled by independent Bernoulli distributed random variables. This problem is addressed in the tessarine domain under conditions of T1 and T2-properness, which entails a reduction in the dimension of the problem and, consequently, computational savings.

A similar domain has not been found in other vicilin proteins of legume species.

Accordingly, the Arabidopsis 2cpab mutant lacking 2-Cys Prxs shows growth inhibition and sensitivity to light stress. However, this mutant also shows defective post-germinative growth, suggesting a relevant role of plastid redox systems in seed development, which is so far unknown.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBreast cancer (BC) is the most widespread tumor in women and the second type of most common cancer worldwide. Despite all the technical and medical advances in existing therapies, between 30 and 50% of patients with BC will develop metastasis, which contributes to the failure of existing treatments. This situation urges the need to find more effective prevention and treatment strategies like the use of plant-based nutraceutical compounds.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPaclitaxel (PTX) is a cornerstone in the treatment of breast cancer, the most common type of cancer in women. However, this drug has serious limitations, including lack of tissue-specificity, poor water solubility, and the development of drug resistance. The transport of PTX in a polymeric nanoformulation could overcome these limitations.

Methods: We conducted a prospective multicenter study, with all consecutive patients referred for an EBUS-TBNA with patients at risk of developing an infectious complication (considering>10 nodal samplings, known immunosuppression, bronchial colonization and cavitated or necrotic lesions) and a second group without any risk factor.
Results: Three hundred seventy patients were included: 245 with risk factors and 125 without risk factors (as the control group).
Objective: This study aimed to describe neurodevelopment in fetal growth restriction children at the age of six. Secondly, we tried to demonstrate influencing factors that can improve or exacerbate this development, as well as predictive factors that might select a population at risk to assist with early childhood support.
Method: It was a study of 70 children affected with FGR.
