Since the inception of medical assistance in dying (MAiD) in Canada in 2016, the health care system continues to refine MAiD delivery models. The frameworks informing nursing practice related to MAiD are subject to variability across the country, leading to nursing role ambiguity and barriers in relational practice. Using critical incident technique, this qualitative research study explores the experiences of 7 Canadian nurses engaging with patients seeking MAiD.

In 2011, there were more than 97,000 people living with Heart Failure in British Columbia (BC) with a total of 17,592 within VIHA. To increase patient accessibility to specialist care, the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) implemented a telecardiology program that utilizes digital stethoscopes, telehealth technology and collaboration to deliver cardiac care remotely. The program has successfully completed 20 consultations to date in 6 communities within the VIHA.

Background & Aims: Co-amoxiclav is one of the most common causes of drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Although there are previous reports of genetic associations between HLA class II and co-amoxiclav-related DILI, studies to date have been based on very small numbers from single centres only. In order to address this problem we have investigated the role of HLA class II DRB1 and DQB1 in 61 cases of co-amoxiclav DILI as part of a UK-wide multicentre study.
