Combination treatment of acupoint therapy and conventional medication for motor function of Parkinson's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Combination treatment with acupoint therapy and conventional medication (CM) has been proposed as a strategy that could improve motor dysfunction in Parkinson's disease (PD). We performed this systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the effects of this combination treatment on motor function in patients with PD.

Methods: We searched randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from eight databases, comparing combined acupoint therapy and CM and CM (alone or with sham interventions).

[Efficacy prediction of acupuncture in treatment of moderate-to-severe allergic rhinitis based on miRNA expression profile].

Objective: To investigate the differential characteristics of plasma mircoRNA (miRNA) expression profile in the patients of moderate-to-severe allergic rhinitis treated with acupuncture so as to provide an index for screening the potential biomarkers of acupuncture efficacy.

Methods: Of 33 patients of moderate-to-severe allergic rhinitis underwent acupuncture, the superior efficacy patients (superior efficacy group, 3 cases) and the inferior efficacy patients (inferior efficacy group, 3 cases) were selected. Using human miRNA microarray technology, the differences in plasma miRNA expression before and after treatment were analyzed in the patients of two groups.

Feasibility and positive effects of scalp acupuncture for modulating motor and cerebral activity in Parkinson's disease: A pilot study.

Background: A variety of acupuncture therapies have shown efficacy in Parkinson's disease (PD).

Objective: To evaluate scalp acupuncture (SA) effects on motor and cerebral activity by using gait equipment and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI).

Methods: Twelve patients with PD received SA.

[Acupuncture for perimenopausal early-wake insomnia: a randomized controlled trial].

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture for perimenopausal early-wake insomnia.

Methods: A total of 60 patients with perimenopausal early-wake insomnia were randomly divided into an observation group (30 cases, 3 cases dropped off) and a control group (30 cases, 2 cases dropped off, 2 cases were removed). In the observation group, acupuncture was applied at Baihui (GV 20), Yintang (GV 24), Anmian (Extra), Hegu (LI 4), Shenmen (HT 7), Taichong (LR 3), Taixi (KI 3), etc.

Electroacupuncture Combined With Diet Treatment Has a Therapeutic Effect on Perimenopausal Patients With Abdominal Obesity by Improving the Community Structure of Intestinal Flora.

This study explored the influences of electroacupuncture combined with dietary intervention on the intestinal flora in perimenopausal patients with abdominal obesity by using the 16s rRNA sequencing technology. Perimenopausal patients with abdominal obesity were divided into the Electroacupuncture group and the Control group. Patients in the Control group received healthy lifestyle education, while those in the Electroacupuncture group received electroacupuncture combined with dietary intervention.

[Hemorrhage risk and countermeasures of acupuncture treatment in patients undergoing administration of anticoagulants and antiplatelets].

Acupuncture therapy is widely used in the treatment of various clinical problems, but has some contraindications which should be highly noted. For example, patients with potential hemorrhagic tendency owing to administration of necessary anticoagulants and antiplatelets should be paid more attention when acupuncture therapy was performed. Usually, anticoagulants and antiplatelets combined with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory hormones, antibiotic agents and vasodilators significantly increased the risk of bleeding.

[Ginger-separated moxibustion for chronic fatigue syndrome and its effect on intestinal flora].

Objective: To observe the effect of ginger-separated moxibustion on fatigue state and intestinal flora in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

Methods: A total of 62 patients with CFS were randomly divided into an observation group (31 cases, 3 cases dropped off) and a control group (31 cases, 2 cases dropped off). The patients in the control group were treated with normal diet and moderate exercise; on the basis of the control group, the patients in the observation group were treated with ginger-separated moxibustion at Zhongwan (CV 12), Shenque (CV 8) and Guanyuan (CV 4), 30 min each time, once every other day, three times a week.

The Effectiveness of Acupoint Catgut Embedding Therapy for Abdominal Obesity: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Acupoint catgut embedding is a useful therapy for weight management and widely applied in China. This review aimed to systematically evaluate the effects of acupoint catgut embedding on abdominal obesity. We searched the PubMed, Cochrane-Library, Embase, OVID, MEDLINE, ISI (web of science), Wanfang, VIP, CBM, and CNKI for randomized controlled trials that used acupoint catgut embedding to treat abdominal obesity before April 2019 with the language restriction of Chinese and English.

[Sheng's acupuncture manipulation at bone-nearby acupoints and the academic thoughts].

Sheng's acupuncture manipulation at bone-nearby acupoints is a set of needling manipulation of the chief physician of TCM, SHENG Xie-sun, summarized through his over 50 years clinical experiences and on the basis of Internal Classic. Regarding this manipulation, on the premise of acupoint selection based on syndrome differentiation, the acupoints close to bone are possibly selected and punctured, with the needle tip toward bone edge, and followed by the technique to achieve reducing purpose. Clinically, the significant immediate analgesia can be achieved in pain disorders such as headache and toothache.
