The Transformation of Group Identity Among Parents of Children With Cochlear Implants in China: A Social Identity Perspective.

This study aims to explore the transformation of parental perspectives on the identity of being a parent of a child with cochlear implant (CI), termed CI parent herein, within the context of Chinese culture. Narrative interviews were conducted with six parents from three families who have children with CIs. Using a narrative inquiry approach, this study reveals that the group identity of Chinese CI parents is dynamic.

Genome-Wide Association and RNA-Seq Analyses Reveal a Potential Candidate Gene Related to Oil Content in Soybean Seeds.

Soybean is a crucial crop globally, serving as a significant source of unsaturated fatty acids and protein in the human diet. However, further enhancements are required for the related genes that regulate soybean oil synthesis. In this study, 155 soybean germplasms were cultivated under three different environmental conditions, followed by phenotypic identification and genome-wide association analysis using simplified sequencing data.

Teacher-student interaction in a special school for students with developmental disabilities in Chinese context.

This paper analyzes interactions between teachers and students with developmental disabilities in a special education school in China, which is still the main educational placement for the disabled in China. Video observation data collected from six students in second grade and one teacher, were coded by an improved Flanders Interaction Analysis System (iFIAS). Results indicate that the teacher played the dominant role in the class while her/his instruction was student-oriented, several evidence-based strategies were used to motivate students' engagement, including questioning, timely feedback, reinforcement, game teaching, students' self-determination.
