Dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons are responsible for the primary detection and transmission of peripheral noxious stimuli, mainly pain and itch. However, as two distinct noxious sensations, how DRG neurons respond differently to and code pain and itch is still an attractive topic. Here, we investigate the response and activation spectrum of DRG neurons under peripheral pain and itch stimuli using two-photon calcium imaging and find differences in the response intensity to pain and itch between multisensory neurons (both pain and itch) and single-sensory neurons (either pain or itch).

However, how brain-border myeloid cells affect stroke pathology remains poorly characterized.
Methods And Results: Here, we showed that ischemic stroke-induced expansion of CXCL2 neutrophils, which exhibit highly proinflammatory features.

Background: Vocal cord polyp is common otorhinolaryngological disease, traditionally treated by vocal cord polypectomy under a supporting laryngoscope with general anaesthesia. Although it is safe and controllable, it would cause some anaesthesia complications. Moreover, the complex process of general anaesthesia may significantly reduce surgical efficiency.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the most influential articles, authors, countries, and topics in the role of NVU in stroke.
Methods: The Web of Science (WoS) database was used for bibliometric analysis using the search terms "Stroke" and "Neurovascular unit" on January 1st, 2021.

Stroke is followed by an intricate immune interaction involving the engagement of multiple immune cells, including neutrophils. As one of the first responders recruited to the brain, the crucial roles of neutrophils in the ischemic brain damage are receiving increasing attention in recent years. Notably, neutrophils are not homogenous, and yet there is still a lack of full knowledge about the extent and impact of neutrophil heterogeneity.

The two most popular airway management methods, laryngeal mask airway (LMA) and endotracheal intubation (ETI), both have their unique advantages in specific clinical settings. For the purpose of helping clinicians make better decisions on airway management during geriatric surgery, we designed this multi-center clinical trial to compare the influence of LMA and ETI on PPCs.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of Tregs in cerebral ischemic brain injury with concomitant cancer. Methods- To establish a cancer phenotype, MC38 colon cancer or B16 melanoma cells (5×10/mice) were injected subcutaneously into C57BL/6J mice 2 to 3 weeks before distal middle cerebral artery occlusion surgery.

MiRNA-15b was measured by quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR). Cardiomyocyte apoptosis was determined by terminal deoxynucleotide transferase dUTP nick end labeling staining.

Objective: To describe trends of changes in blood lead levels in children aged 1 - 6 years during the time period before and after introducing lead free gasoline in Shanghai 1997 and 1999.
Methods: Blood lead levels of 1 969 children aged 1 - 6 years were determined by a sampling survey in five districts of Shanghai in August and September, 1997. Blood lead levels of the same population were re-determined by the same method from April to June in 1998 and from August to September in 1999.
