Background: Egg production is economically important in the meat-type chicken industry. To better understand the molecular genetic mechanism of egg production in meat-type chicken, genetic parameter estimation, genome-wide association analyses combined with meta-analyses, Bayesian analyses, and selective sweep analyses were performed to screen single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and other genetic loci that were significantly associated with egg number traits in 11,279 chickens from seven material lines.
Results: Yellow-feathered meat-type chickens laid 115 eggs at 43 weeks of age and white-feathered chickens laid 143 eggs at 60 weeks of age, with heritability ranging from 0.

With the dramatic increase in the amount of multimedia data, cross-modal similarity retrieval has become one of the most popular yet challenging problems. Hashing offers a promising solution for large-scale cross-modal data searching by embedding the high-dimensional data into the low-dimensional similarity preserving Hamming space. However, most existing cross-modal hashing usually seeks a semantic representation shared by multiple modalities, which cannot fully preserve and fuse the discriminative modal-specific features and heterogeneous similarity for cross-modal similarity searching.

In this study, we used the R software to screen key differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in AT from lean and obese individuals and conducted function enrichment analysis. We then analysed their PPI network by using the STRING database.

The purpose of this study was to determine the main VOC components in chicken breast muscle (BM) and abdominal fat (AF) tissue, as well as the source of VOCs, to provide a basis for quality improvement of broilers. BM and AF served as experimental and control groups, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and untargeted metabolomics were employed to identify the source of VOCs.

We found 218 metabolites associated with 1-octen-3-ol content in 20 samples of chicken meat, including mevalonic acid (positive correlation), corticosterone (negative correlation), and other lipids and lipid-like molecules.

A total of 21 children with unilateral DDH who had received Pemberton osteotomy were selected as the DDH group, and 21 healthy children of the same age were selected as the control group. The children in both groups were tested using sEMG, the Root mean square (RMS) values of the tensor fascia lata, rectus femurs, and medial head of the hamstring and gluteus maximum on both sides in standing and walking status were recorded.

Purpose: To assess the diagnostic performance of APT imaging in breast cancer and its association with prognostic histopathologic characteristics.
This study investigated the effect of structural modification of Curcumin (CU) combined with the solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) drug delivery system on anti-tumor activity . A new structure of Curcumin derivative (CU1) was successfully synthesized by modifying the phenolic hydroxyl group of CU. CU1 was two times more stable than CU at 45 °C or constant light.

In this article, we propose a new linear regression (LR)-based multiclass classification method, called discriminative regression with adaptive graph diffusion (DRAGD). Different from existing graph embedding-based LR methods, DRAGD introduces a new graph learning and embedding term, which explores the high-order structure information between four tuples, rather than conventional sample pairs to learn an intrinsic graph. Moreover, DRAGD provides a new way to simultaneously capture the local geometric structure and representation structure of data in one term.

Therapeutic peptide prediction is critical for drug development and therapeutic therapy. Researchers have developed several computational methods to identify different therapeutic peptide types. However, most computational methods focus on identifying the specific type of therapeutic peptides and fail to accurately predict all types of therapeutic peptides.

Meanwhile, several tetraaza macrocyclic compounds were synthesized as chiral solvating agents from d-phenylalanine and (1,2)-(+)-1,2-diaminocyclohexane. An uncommon enantiomeric discrimination has been successfully established for hydantoin derivatives, representatives of five-membered N,N-heterocycles, in the presence of tetraaza macrocyclic chiral solvating agents (TAMCSAs) by means of H NMR spectroscopy.

Weakly supervised object detection (WSOD) has become an effective paradigm, which requires only class labels to train object detectors. However, WSOD detectors are prone to learn highly discriminative features corresponding to local objects rather than complete objects, resulting in imprecise object localization. To address the issue, designing backbones specifically for WSOD is a feasible solution.

Dysregulation of microRNAs (miRNAs) in adipocytes plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of obesity. However, the signaling mechanisms regulating miRNAs production in adipose tissue remain largely unclear. Here, we show that adipose tissue-specific knockout of Ras homolog enriched in brain (Rheb), a direct upstream activator of mTOR, increases miR-182-5p level in mouse subcutaneous white adipose tissues.

Results: A total of 520 chickens from a selected line with improved IMF content and a control line were used to investigate the biochemical mechanism of IMF deposition in chickens. The results showed that the increased IMF would improve the flavor and tenderness quality of chicken meat.

Latent low-rank representation (LatLRR) is a critical self-representation technique that improves low-rank representation (LRR) by using observed and unobserved samples. It can simultaneously learn the low-dimensional structure embedded in the data space and capture the salient features. However, LatLRR ignores the local geometry structure and can be affected by the noise and redundancy in the original data space.
