The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation Shengqiyichang Decoction (SQYCD) has been reported to stimulate host immunity, and it has been administered for the treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC). Here, we applied network and bioinformatics analyses to elucidate the mechanisms by which SQYCD ameliorates CRC and validated its modes of action via and experiments. We identified 46 active compounds in SQYCD and selected 237 proteins as potential therapeutic targets in CRC, most notably p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38⍺).

Rapid assembly of quinoxalines in a single step from readily available precursors has been recognized as an ideal platform in terms of efficiency and operation. Herein, we report a BPO-promoted metal-free approach to 2-acyl quinoxalines from enaminones and -phenylenediamines cascade transamination and C-H amination. This methodology demonstrates excellent compatibility with various substrates, including -hydroxy enaminones, drug derivatives and natural products under mild reaction conditions.

Switchable multicomponent reactions have been attractive tools for the construction of compound libraries with skeleton diversity and complexity by slightly changing the reaction conditions. Described herein is a regioselectivity-switchable formal [1 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition reaction from difluoroalkyl compounds, enaminones, and RNHNH, ultimately using 1-methylindazol-3-amine as a traceless mediator to switch the inherent regioselectivity of 1,3,4-trisubstituted pyrazole formation to 1,4,5-trisubstituted pyrazoles. Remarkable features of this work include mild conditions, simple operation, and broad scopes.

The study aimed to investigate the influence of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) on rats with diabetic retinopathy (DR) through the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) 1/2 signaling pathway. 40 rats were selected and divided into Control group (n=10), diabetes mellitus (DM) group (n=10), cobalt protoporphyrin (CoPP) group (n=10) and zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP) group (n=10) according to weight. Streptozotocin (STZ) was intraperitoneally injected to establish the DM model in DM, CoPP and ZnPP groups, and CoPP and ZnPP solution was intraperitoneally injected in CoPP and ZnPP groups, respectively.

Anisomycin eminently inhibits cell proliferation in vitro. The aim of this study was to explore the potential of anisomycin to treat tumors in vivo and its mechanism(s) of action. The results showed that peritumoral administration of anisomycin significantly suppressed Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) growth resulting in the survival of approximately 60% of the mice 90 days after EAC inoculation.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is associated with high mortality and disability, and hyperglycemia worsens the clinical and neurological outcomes of patients with ICH.
