Background: Unlike non-rheumatic atrial fibrillation (AF), where left atrial thrombus (LAT) is predominantly confined to the left atrial appendage (LAA), a significant proportion of LAT in rheumatic AF occurs within the left atrial cavity (LAC). However, LAC thrombosis in rheumatic AF has not been extensively studied. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of LAT and its subtypes and identify potential predictors of LAT.

In this paper, rice husk (RH) was taken as the research object, and the effects of different washing pretreatment conditions (washing time (WTI), washing temperature (WTE), and particle size) on the combustion characteristics and ash formation characteristics were discussed. The results show that the combustion characteristics of RH were significantly coupling-affected by the WTE and WTI, and the comprehensive characteristics of volatile release were significantly coupling-affected by the particle size and WTI.

As a type of transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS), Microneedles (MNs) have garnered significant attention from researchers due to their ability to penetrate the stratum corneum (SC) of the skin, enhance drug permeability and bioavailability, avoid first-pass metabolism, and cause minimal damage to the skin. This makes them particularly suitable for localized transdermal drug delivery. Dissolvable microneedles (DMNs) can encapsulate sensitive particles, provide high drug-loading capacity, and possess biodegradability and biocompatibility, attracting extensive research interest.

However, many traditional PSs face the drawbacks that aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) and highly expressed glutathione (GSH) in the tumor microenvironment seriously limit their ROS generation ability. Herein, we report two cationic dinuclear iridium complexes, and , which possess aggregation-induced emission (AIE).

Methods: A prospective, observational study was conducted. The critically ill patients admitted to the emergency ICU of Cangzhou Central Hospital from January 2021 to October 2022 were enrolled.
Huge volume changes of bismuth (Bi) anode leading to rapid capacity hindered its practical application in sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Herein, porous Bi@C (P-Bi@C) microspheres consisting of self-assembled Bi nanosheets and carbon shells were constructed via a hydrothermal method combined with a carbothermic reduction. The optimized P-Bi@C-700 (annealed at 700 °C) demonstrates 359.

A four-dimensional constellation structure employing color coding is designed, amalgamating geometric shaping with probability shaping to enhance the constellation figure of merit (CFM). Successful transmission of OFDM signals at 51.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 54 patients with primary hyperhidrosis in our department from June 2018 to June 2021, divided into a radiofrequency ablation group (30 cases) and an anhydrous alcohol ablation group (24 cases). Treatment outcomes were compared by analyzing the number of CT scans, effectiveness, and complications.
The complexities encountered in microbial metabolic engineering continue to elude prediction and design. Unravelling these complexities requires strategies that go beyond conventional genetics. Using multiplex mutagenesis with double stranded (ds) DNA, we extend the multiplex repertoire previously pioneered using single strand (ss) oligonucleotides.

Regarding above issues, this research innovatively applied ultrasound-assisted salts (NaCl and KCl) recombination in the pickling stage of low-sodium beef jerky, and further compared the flavor differences caused by ultrasound by sensory evaluation, E-nose and GC-IMS. Besides, the changes of physicochemical qualities were explored including salts content, color and shear force.

Objective: This study aimed to examine the alterations in short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), a hypothesized lipid-lowering mechanism of probiotics, in animal models and to evaluate the lipid-lowering effects of probiotics on hyperlipidemic animal models through a meta-analysis of preclinical experiments. Methods: A comprehensive search of PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Library and Google Scholar up to June 2024 yielded nine studies that met the inclusion criteria (INPLASY registration number: No.

Constructing high-performance coordination polymer (CP) cathodes for lithium-ion batteries based on the redox reactions of both high-potential transition metal ions and high-capacity organic ligands has attracted extensive attention. However, CP cathodes suffer from structural degradation, low electrical conductivity, and sluggish diffusion kinetics, resulting in poor cycling stability and inferior rate capability. Herein, the ultrafine FeTHBQ (THBQ = tetrahydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone) CP nanoparticles in situ grew on both sides of graphene nanosheets to form the uniform two-dimensional (2D) FeTHBQ/Graphene nanocomposite with a sandwich structure via a one-pot solvothermal method.

Lycopene, β-carotene, and astaxanthin are particularly critical for health and have diverse applications in food, health products, and medicine. However, natural carotenoids are encased within cell structures, necessitating mechanical methods to disrupt the cell wall for their extraction and purification-a process often influenced by environmental conditions.

Based on the simulated results of the basic HMSIC antenna, two embroidered hollow posts with square cross-sections are added as shorting vias at the intersections of the zero-E traces of the TM210HM and TM020HM modes to shift the TM010HM-mode band to merge with the bands of the higher-order modes for bandwidth enhancement. A prototype is practically fabricated based on computerized embroidery techniques.
