Low compressive strength of fly ash-based geopolymer foam (FGF) severely limits its application in areas such as building thermal insulation, partition walls, and foundation backfill. In this study, triethanolamine (TEA) was examined as an additive with dual functions: acting as a foam stabilizer in the foam solution and enhancing the strength of FGF samples. The effects of TEA on the stability of preformed foam and the workability, bulk density, and compressive strength of FGF samples at room temperature were evaluated.

Epstein-Barr virus-positive mucocutaneous ulcer (EBVMCU) is a rare condition characterized by skin or mucosal lesions resulting from defective immune surveillance of EBV due to immunosuppression, which can be iatrogenic or age-related. It represents a benign lymphoproliferative disorder that clinically may mimic malignant tumors. However, EBVMCU typically progresses slowly and often resolves spontaneously without specific treatment, emphasizing the critical need for differential diagnosis from malignancies.

Cutaneous mucormycosis is a rare fungal infection marked by skin abscesses, swelling, necrosis, dry ulcers, and eschars. Though less fatal compared to other mucormycosis forms, delayed diagnosis and treatment in immunocompromised patients can cause the infection to spread to vital organs, becoming life-threatening. We report a case of lower extremity cutaneous mucormycosis secondary to acute myeloid leukemia, successfully managed with sustained surgical debridement and short-term oral posaconazole.

The heavy-metal ion critical role in γ-dicalcium silicate (γ-CS) both in terms of solidification mechanism and hydration is still unclear. In this work, the solidification mechanism and the effect on initiating hydration of these three heavy-metal ions (Ba, Cd, and Cr) in γ-CS is systemically studied by well-defined calculations. The calculated results show that the solid solution tendency of ions originates from the charge contribution, and the charge localization caused by the doping of Cr ions weakens the surface water adsorption.

Oxaliplatin has become a widely used agent in neoadjuvant chemotherapy for gastrointestinal tract tumors and is an integral part of the therapeutic approach for managing colorectal cancer recurrences and metastases, resulting in a more favorable prognosis for patients. The long-distance transport of iron (Fe) in the xylem is critical for maintaining systemic Fe homeostasis in plants. The loading form of Fe(II) into the xylem and the long-distance translocation form of Fe(III)-citrate have been identified, but how Fe(II) is oxidized to Fe(III) in the xylem remains unknown. Here, we showed that the cell wall-resided ferroxidases LPR1 and LPR2 (LPRs) were both specifically expressed in the vascular tissues of , while disruption of both of them increased Fe(II) in the xylem sap and caused excessive Fe deposition in the xylem vessel wall under Fe-sufficient conditions.
