Article Synopsis
  • This study looked at the brain's frontoparietal network (FPN) to see how it works differently in people with bipolar disorder when they're feeling manic or when they're not.
  • Researchers compared 38 people in a manic state and 28 who were in a calmer state, along with 60 healthy people, using brain scans.
  • They found that the differences in brain activity could help tell apart those who are manic from those who aren’t, and might even help predict how well treatment could work for the manic patients.

This empirical study applies a quantitative policy evaluation approach to evaluate the environmental and economic effects of an ecological compensation policy, using the paddy land-to-dry land (PLDL) program implemented in China's Miyun Reservoir watershed as an example.
