Work context transformed. Employees increasingly interact with enterprise social media, wherein employees may feel disconnected from workplace. Drawing on social affiliation theory, we develop and examine a moderated mediation model to explore the indirect effect of enterprise social media usage on counterproductive work behavior (CWB) via workplace loneliness and the moderating role of information and communication technology hassle (ICT hassle).

Inhalation of reclaimed water is known to cause lung inflammation, and free endotoxins have been shown to be a major risk factor for acute exposure. Subchronic exposure has also been shown to induce inflammatory responses with visible tissue damage. However, subchronic risk factors have yet to be identified, and a threshold for the protection of occupational populations during urban reuse is necessary.

But the interplay between bubbles and pathogens remains unclear and the mechanisms of virus aerosolization by the bubble properties have not been well studied. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the water-to-air transfer of viruses by bubbles of different sizes.

Carbon dioxide is believed widely to be the major contributor to global warming. Policymakers worldwide are turning to tax policies in an effort to abate carbon emissions. China is the largest emitter of carbon emissions on our planet.

Endotoxin has been verified as the key risk factor in acute inhalation exposure through the TLR4 (Toll-like receptor 4) signalling pathway. In long-term exposure, endotoxin may also be a risk factor in reclaimed water, but the contribution of other health risk factors should not be underestimated.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPrevious research found that inhalation exposure of reclaimed water could cause severe pulmonary inflammation, and the endotoxin was proposed to be the key risk factor. To further support this view, the toxic effects of different reclaimed water induced by acute inhalation exposure were compared between wildtype C57BL/6J and TLR4 signaling pathway defect mice. It was found that reclaimed water with high levels of endotoxin could induce strong inflammation in wildtype mice, but not in Tlr4 and MyD88 mutants.

Since the effects of disinfection treatments on endotoxins had conflicting results, this study explored the changes of endotoxin activity and inflammation inducing ability of reference endotoxin, gram-negative bacteria solutions and reclaimed water after ozonation respectively, and found that LAL assay based endotoxin activity and mouse inhalation exposure based inflammation examination had inconsistent results. The excessive ozone could not remove the endotoxin activity, but was able to reduce the inflammation inducing ability of free endotoxin.

Despite lay considerations that smog might pose risks for psychopathology, it remains unknown whether it is only linked to affective psychopathology or to a broader range of symptomologies. Moreover, whether individual differences in emotion regulation, a transdiagnostic risk factor for psychopathology, would influence the magnitude of pollution-induced symptoms is not well understood.
