The prognosis of B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) is poor, primarily due to drug resistance and relapse. Ga15, encoded by GNA15, belongs to the G protein family, with G protein-coupled receptors playing a crucial role in multiple biological process. GNA15 has been reported to be involved in various malignancies; however, its potential role in B-ALL remain unknown.

Nevertheless, certain limitations persist in the treatment of AML. Sperm-associated antigen 6 (SPAG6) has been implicated in the onset and progression of various human cancers, with its expression levels significantly elevated in AML.

Sperm-associated antigen 6 (SPAG6), a member of the cancer-testis antigen family, plays an important role in tumors, especially hematologic tumors; however, it is unknown whether SPAG6 plays a role in adult B-ALL. In this study, we demonstrated for the first time that SPAG6 expression was up-regulated in the bone marrow of adult B-ALL patients compared to healthy donors, and expression was significantly reduced in patients who achieved complete remission (CR) after treatment.

Accumulating evidence indicates that abnormal apoptosis promotes the evolution and progression of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). As a novel cancer-testis antigen, sperm‑associated antigen 6 (SPAG6) has been reported to regulate apoptosis through the tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand signaling pathway in the MDS cell line SKM‑1.
