Background: Mitochondrial transcription elongation factor (TEFM) is a recently discovered factor involved in mitochondrial DNA replication and transcription. Previous studies have reported that abnormal TEFM expression can disrupt the assembly of mitochondrial respiratory chain and thus mitochondrial function. However, the role of TEFM on Uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) progression remains unclear.

The present study investigated the mechanism of prostate cancer with bone metastasis by utilizing prostate specimens from patients. A total of 418 patients were initially enrolled for clinical analysis, including age, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, body mass index (BMI), prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and bone MRI, while pathological analysis included grade group and carcinoma of the prostate.

This study aims to explore the key ferroptosis-related genes and its role in nucleus pulposus (NP) and annulus fibrosus (AF) degeneration.
Methods: We analyzed the gene expression profiles of NP and AF from the Gene Expression Omnibus database.
Peroxynitrite (ONOO) is a critical biomarker associated with a wide array of diseases including cancer, inflammatory conditions, and neurodegenerative disorders. This study introduces an innovative chemiluminescence nanoprobe (CLNP) based on a bicyclic dioxetane structure, designed for highly sensitive and specific in vivo imaging of ONOO. Our CLNP demonstrates exceptional capabilities in generating high-contrast imaging of disease lesions, with applications verified across tumor models, acute inflammation, and acute liver injury scenarios.

Colorectal cancer is one of the common malignant tumors with poor prognosis, which is partly due to the lack of an effective biomarker. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of membrane palmitoylated protein (MPP2) on the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients. We obtained transcriptome data and DNA methylation data of 380 colorectal cancer patients from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).

Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapies have achieved great success in eradicating some liquid tumors, whereas the preclinical results in treating solid tumors have proven less decisive. One of the principal challenges in solid tumor treatment is the physical barrier composed of a dense extracellular matrix, which prevents immune cells from penetrating the tissue to attack intratumoral cancer cells. Here, we improve immune cell infiltration into solid tumors by manipulating septin-7 functions in cells.

Hence, it is necessary to construct an effective tool to quickly and accurately detect SO derivatives in environmental, food, and biological samples. In this study, fluorescent probe NPMQ was built to detect SO derivatives from nopinone with the merits of superior water solubility, high sensitivity (12 nM), excellent specificity, large Stokes shift (180 nm), and rapid response time (within 5 s).

Research indicates that the volume expansion point marks the transition from the secondary creep stage to the tertiary creep stage in a landslide's evolution, and also separates the stable crack growth stage from the unstable crack growth stage in the locked segment. Identifying the volume expansion point is essential for early warning and predicting locked segment-type landslides.

As saliva is one of the most common biological samples used in crime scenes, it is important to make full use of the rich individual information contained in saliva. The aim of this study was to explore the application of the microbiome in forensic science by analysing differences in the salivary microbiome and metabolome of healthy individuals with different dietary habits.

Here we perform a meta-analysis to assess the efficacy, safety, incidence of postherpetic neuralgia of brivudine.
Methods: Data of randomized controlled Trials (RCTS) were obtained from the databases of both English (PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library) and Chinese (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science Journal Database, and WanFang Database) literatures from inception to 12 September 2022.
Epigenetic changes are important considerations for degenerative diseases. DNA methylation regulates crucial genes by epigenetic mechanism, impacting cell function and fate. DNA presents hypermethylation in degenerated nucleus pulposus (NP) tissue, but its role in intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) remains elusive.

Firstly, by adjusting the nodes of the B-spline wavelet element on the interval, crack-tip elements are constructed. Since B-spline wavelet on the interval (BSWI) has excellent compact support characteristics and is particularly suitable for describing solution domains with large gradient changes, the constructed crack-tip can reduce the numerical oscillation effect near the crack tip.

Researchers have shown the capability of shallow neural networks in reconstructing CCI, given molecules' abundance in the Spatial Transcriptomics (ST) data. When encountering situations such as sparse connections in CCI and excessive noise, the susceptibility of shallow networks to these factors significantly impacts the accuracy of CCI reconstruction, resulting in subpar results.

However, it remains uncertain whether this phenomenon influences the risk of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). This study aimed to assess the potential causal effects of blood pressure (BP) and antihypertensive drugs on GBM.

This paper demonstrates that two-dimensional films based on few-layer NbC have a photoelectric response in the wavelength range from visible to near-infrared. We have found that the light response performance can be easily adjusted by controlling the thickness of the spin-coated film, and that NbC photodetectors show great advantages in terms of wide bandwidth, polarization response, high switching ratio, etc.

Herein, we report their operationally simple synthesis through a highly regioselective intermolecular azidoamination of olefins under metal-free conditions. The approach proceeded through azide and iminyl, two differentiated -centered radicals.

Purpose: To verify that lateral trochlear inclination (LTI) measured by the transepicondylar axis can reliably be used to evaluate trochlear dysplasia (TD) on MRI and can serve as an objective indication of trochleoplasty for patients with lateral patellar dislocation (LPD).
Methods: Eighty patients with recurrent LPD and eighty healthy subjects were included. TD, posterior condylar angle (PCA), and LTI measured by the posterior condylar reference line (LTIp), surgical transepicondylar axis (LTIs), and anatomical transepicondylar axis (LTIa) were assessed on MRI.

Purpose: Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) is an accepted treatment option for patients with virus infection. Mounting evidence indicated that persistent HAART treatment is implicated with increased morbidity of HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) in patients. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF), a novel nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI), was used in patients with HIV co-infected with HBV.
