This study presents a novel FeO/C composite material synthesized from red mud through a process of magnetic roasting and separation. The research explores the impact of FeO/C dosages, sodium persulfate (PS) concentrations, and initial solution pH on the chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency using Acid Orange 7 as a model pollutant. Optimal conditions were identified as 3 g/L FeO/C, 20 mM PS, and an initial pH of 2, achieving a 94.

Methods: Using a 2×2 factorial design, F0 female and male rats were randomly assigned to receive intragastrically sigma vegetable oil (the control), BPA at 0.5 mg/kg, 4-NP at 5 mg/kg, and BPA+4-NP both at 0.
Shoot-root communication is crucial for plant adaptation to environmental changes. However, the extensive crosstalk between shoots and roots that controls the synthesis of jasmonates (JAs), in order to enhance defense responses against rhizosphere herbivores, remains poorly understood. Here, we report that the root-knot nematode (RKN) Meloidogyne incognita induces the systemic transmission of electrical and reactive oxygen species (ROS) signals from attacked tomato roots to the leaves, leading to an increased accumulation of JAs in the leaves.

A finite-difference time domain method for electric anisotropic medium and Volume-average Effective Permittivity approximation are applied to calculate the resonant frequencies and quality factors of Whispering-gallery modes. The resonant frequency for different whispering-gallery modes has a similar shift in direct proportion to the relative difference of two principal refractive indices.
