In this study, the first attempt is made to implement conjugated polymer-based self-assembled monolayer (SAM), poly[3-(6-carboxyhexyl) thiophene-2,5-diyl] (P3HT-COOH), is implemented as the hole transport layer (HTL) in fabricatiing organic photovoltaics (OPVs). The scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) results show that those P3HT-COOH molecules with periodic carboxylic acid anchoring groups pack periodically on the indium tin oxide (ITO) surface and form a monolayer. Further, this monolayer is smooth and dense with a polar feature that minimizes defects, forms an excellent interface with the photoactive layer, and tunes the work function of ITO beneficial for hole extraction.

The connection between amino acid metabolism and pyroptosis remains elusive. Herein, we screen the effect of individual amino acid on pyroptosis and identify that methionine inhibits GSDME-mediated pyroptosis. Mechanistic analyses unveil that MYO6, a unique actin-based motor protein, bridges the GSDME N-terminus (GSDME-NT) and the endocytic adaptor AP2, mediating endolysosomal degradation of GSDME-NT.

Fast-charging lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are essential for electric vehicles (EVs) to compete with conventional gasoline ones in terms of charging viability, yet the aggressive capacity drop in fast-charging scenarios gives rise to concerns regarding durability and sustainability. Herein, it is clarified that for fast-charging batteries, the excessive lithium (Li) plating on graphite anode inevitably brings capacity fading, and the concurrent accumulation of LiO-dominant passivation species that form dead Li is the main reason for their poor rechargeability. To refresh the passivated graphite, a voltage-induced activation mechanism is developed to leverage bromide (Br/Br ) redox couple for LiO and isolated Li activation in situ.

A magnetic field-assisted freezing system was developed to mitigate the degradation of taste quality in frozen cooked rice (FCR). The physicochemical properties and starch structure were analyzed under varying magnetic field types, intensities, and cryostasis time. The analysis of freezing characteristics indicated that treatments with 10 mT static magnetic fields (SMF) and 6 mT alternating magnetic fields (AMF) yielded optimal results, significantly reducing the duration of the maximum ice crystal generation zone by approximately 18 min.
